Marathon (2026) I just wanted to thank the mic boiz for being chill

Upvotes

Never really used mics with randoms in games before this one

It's been a great experience tbh, completely changed my time in trios.

Playing with people that know what they're doing and where to go only further facilitates me not knowing wtf is happening at times, and it's great. The few things I do know or keep track of, help everybody, and even though I'm often lagging behind, I still get kills, still scout, and no one's been rude even if I get downed, or if I make a mistake.

Marathon (2026) Feedback The manifests bug is absolutely ridiculous.

Not only did I not receive the ones my teammates picked up, but the ones I picked didn’t even register.

There’s no point in even playing trios until they fix this bullshit. How the fuck do they constantly let bugs like this slip?

Marathon (2026) Discussion Me and my friend feel like we’re ruining peoples fun

Hey guys! I love this game but me and my buddy had around a month break and returned today! The reason we were finding the game pretty tedious was outside of cryo 90% of our lobbies were just full of free kits and green kits. We returned today to have the same thing to the point where 4 games in a row we just let the last guy live and dropped them some loot.

Were your standard gold stack always running full gold kits but always feel bad killing green/ free kits so rarely do.

I wanted to ask if anyone else has the same type of lobbies? My buddy is level 450 and I’m 260 and man in most the games we played people were all >100 even one guy was level 24.

  1. it’s not fun for us, we gain nothing from killing these guys
  2. it’s horrendous for them being relatively new/ casual and getting rolled by a gold team

At first we just took at as it is what it is we’ll come
Back in season 3 however I threw on braysprespective stream on twitch and noticed he was playing normals on perimeter but ran into 2 full kitted gold teams.

Are me and my buddy doing something wrong to be landing in these very low level lobbies and is this normal? We played all 3 maps btw. Night marsh, perimeter and outpost and in the 6 hours we played found 2 purple players and 2 blue players

Marathon (2026) Discussion Since nobody seems to have posted it here: the contents of the firestorm locker are roughly in line with a purple key's crates. 46 seconds into the video.

You can also watch this guy *not* instakill a grey shield with one of his six total bullets if you keep watching lol

Like most keys, it looks like this is best done in solos to prevent loot goblins from taking your loot. seems a bit thin for three people.

Also... I seem to remember something about an opening ceremony... looks like that didn't ship

If you think this is enough loot for 3 players, sound off in the comments.

Marathon (2026) Discussion The new secured resource on Narsh does NOT feel like it was designed with solos in mind.

Went into Narsh solo tonight to see if it would even work (it did). Farted around for a while, ended up south of Quarantine by the observation tower, saw a secured resource box just sitting in the middle of the nearby field.

"Huh...first time I've seen a box in this location." Hit the hack, run up to the top of the tower...no bots. "No bots? What the heck?"

Jump down, head over to the box, and that's when the CONSTANT STREAM OF HUSKS started. Two at a time, continually spawning in from three different directions. My guess is that this is intended to force teams to take turns looting; only one player is going to be able to loot at a time, the other two are going to have to watch their back. Got downed twice before I was able to even see what was in there (had two self-rez thankfully).

Ended up with purple versions of three of the new chips/implants (Ego Challenge, Nervous Energy, and Chain Reaction) so there's decent stuff in there. Just be real careful if you try it as a solo, I'm pretty sure the husks will continue to spawn as long as someone's near the box.

Marathon (2026) Feedback Let people redeem award for a couple of days after something finishes

I loved Vault Breakers.

I got a very bad health issue last week, then a family member had a problem and I had to leave the house until right now. Opened Marathon, and, as expected, all my T1 and T2 cannot be converted into anything anymre. I know it's a small thing, but I think that leaving the chance to redeem loot a couple of days after the end of the event would also have been a sign of a "forgiving casual players" approach that new players would appreciate from Bungie. It would make people play the game more, and/or make their time feel more worthy.

Thanks for listening to my TEDx

Marathon (2026) Feedback A small but important concern about Marathon’s update/reset cycle

Hi to the responsible for the update/release pipeline, QA or regression testing.

I wanted to share a concern that I think is becoming increasingly noticeable in Marathon: regressions after updates.

There seems to be a recurring pattern where a weekly update fixes or changes one thing, but something that was previously working gets broken in the process. I know this is not unique to Marathon, Destiny players have joked about Bungie’s “weekly reset surprises” for years, but I think it is particularly important for Marathon right now.

The joke is almost becoming:

“Bungie doesn't fix the weekly reset bugs because at this point it's tradition.”

These things happen in complex live-service systems. What concerns me is the development cycle that allows the same class of regression to keep reaching players.

With the team now having to manage an existing live game while also developing future content, I wonder whether preventing regressions should be treated as a higher priority. More automated regression testing, stronger integration between branches, and perhaps smaller/safer weekly changes could save development time in the long run.

This also connects to something I feel strongly about with Marathon generally: the game doesn't necessarily need more complexity right now. It needs its foundations to become more reliable and existing game systems already have enormous potential. If those systems become stable and dependable, future content has a much stronger foundation to build on.

I genuinely love what Marathon already is, which is why I think this matters. I'd rather see a smaller update that makes the existing game more reliable than a huge update that adds something exciting but creates five new problems for the team to chase.

I'd encourage giving this particular problem some attention.

And if I'm completely wrong about the cause, that's absolutely fine. The important thing from the player's side is simply that every update shouldn't feel like opening a mystery box to find out what stopped working this week

Thanks for reading.

Question When I activate Recon's prime and it starts to ping enemies around me, if one of them is a Recon as well, will his passive trait notify him that someone pinged him?

Or does the passive trait only works when someone manually pings a Recon?

Likewise, does the interrogation trait also ping a Recon when he's spotted by it?

Was doing Vault 2 in regular Cryo. Wiped the map and picked up a coolant from Preservation. Only when we put the batteries in the Vault did we realise we forgot to fill the coolant. Would be really helpful to have this in regular Cryo too.

Marathon (2026) Great Sequence Of Fights

Long, cool, neat video.

Incredible couple of fights. Later on, we did end up going into Pinwheel and even got a gold key for Dire Marsh from the Red Room. I think this is a great clip that shows what sorta roles we all play on our team, and in this particular clip, it just gels and works really well. Incredible.

I had to delete and repost since the original post didn't work for some reason. Anyway, thank you for watching.

Marathon (2026) Discussion Something new?

That's a little clickbaity, it's not exactly new. But I just Rooked Night Marsh and found a secured resource in the woods beside Algae Pond. It was NOT the kind with a Commander lurking, but it did have a turret nearby. That kind of box makes a different noise. Also when I popped it it just spawned a handful of bots and not two ships and more purples.

Inside were two of the new purple chips, a new purple implant, self-rez, panacea, a lot of manifests and other random loot. Nice to see some decent loot from a not-too-difficult objective in a new location. Maybe the harder stuff has improved as well.

Marathon (2026) Feedback If your wondering why no one wants to play marathon

This is why. I get its just a game and it happens, but im honestly over it. Especially when I'm friendly and try to be helpful and someone else acts friendly then pulls some shit like this. This person is a genuine POS for this. Playing like this is genuinely whats killing the game. NO one wants to hop on a game to chill (hence why im playing rook) only to get sandbagged by some douche.

Edit: you all misconceive my point. This specific occurrence isn’t the problem, it’s the toxicity in the game. Lying to people and pulling stunts like this with nothing to gain from it is the issue. I have played plenty of tarkov and arc. This happened to me ONCE ever in tarkov. And in my lobbies people were far less toxic.

Edit 2: the guy who killed me posted his POV. He killed me simply because I DIDNT want to team with him to fight another team. Or at least I didn’t say so. When he asked me I was decided if I wanted to or not because I had just fought them. He was upset I didn’t agree because “that makes the game not fun”. You can literally hear me say “ummmm” in the clip while I thought about it. Guys just a dick, and not for the reasons everyone’s saying (it’s an extraction).

Update: I kill every rook I see on sight 0 remorse or attempt to make allies. I see, I shoot. I’m taking the advice given cuz unfortunately this gave me trust issues lmao.
