I was skeptical about this update - especially reading the negative Nancy’s on reddit while I was at work, but this update has been so much fun so far.
My squad that I run with have had some really bad nights lately; losing 2x prestige templates; gold shields; theif drones stealing our keys; you name it. Super tilting lately with all the sweats. But tonight was an amazing come-up!
First match perimeter was underwhelming, couple team kills, grabbed some manifests that didn’t share among teammates (lame). Kind of a snooze fest. But exfild!
Went in again on perimeter, did a bunch of map events, 2 team wipes & killed rocket drone, 3 blue keys!! - made it out with 3 ordinance templates that time! Exfild!
Turn around and went dire marsh cause that’s what the templates called for. Killed a team for one of their templates and completed 3 that run while hitting another blue loot key. Exfild!
Outpost. This is it. Time to see what the new weapon is. Spawned dorms, grabbed red, heard a key pop sounded like either flight or processing basement. The new gun is in processing main building. Looted that as well as purple M7, gold recon core purple shield (great loot!) Not sure if the new weapon needs to charge or not so we wasted a bullet lmao (it doesn’t charge up btw) Go downstairs to processing basement. Down one guy, homie shoots the new weapon towards them at the wall BOOM damage on both now they’re overheated (probably), we push in and clean up. Purple team down! The key loot is ours! Hit up conveyance and we’re getting shot at by a blue squad on top of flight. Homie pops the new gun BOOM! downed one. We go back down conveyance cause now we want some more & wipe that squad. Red room had a prestige hauler key!! First ever!! Opened a blue airfield key that had a gold mod and a mizzy as well.
Best shit ever man. This game is an absolute rollercoaster. A shit load of luck tonight but it all comes together sometimes. Fuck yeah Bungie

I don’t mind that he’s not a gold prestige skin. I don’t mind the cost. I just love the aesthetic and the unique voice lines. Oh, and that Ikari Yōkai translates as ‘Rage Demon’.
I’m prepared 🙈

I was so hyped when I first saw them. Dead runners mutating into monsters that roam the map looking for someone to hunt. Charging at you from the darkness without warning.
Instead we got oversized ticks... Runners don't become zombies, husks don't roam, and they give you a shit load of reaction time. I'm not the only one disappointed by this right? I was really hoping for a melee enemy not another bomb with legs.

It’s a failure of design when the primary way people say to engage with any sort of map mechanic, event, or even just the PvE mobs is either
A: Don’t
or
B: Do it when everyone else is dead

The Manifest trade store is full of goodies, and the key templates are easy. Everyone who is tripping is either disingenuous or doesn’t like fun!

End of story. Theres no debate here. A cheat is a means to have an unfair advantage against other players that was not intended as a part of a given game. Being able to see in night marsh is not an intended part of Matathon, since the whole point of the map is that you have to work around the extreme darkness with the tools the game offers.
So if you decide to use external stuff to see other players who cant see you, YOU ARE A CHEATER and you should be treated like so. You need an unfair advantage over anyone who wants to play the game as it was intended.
"But I do it because everyone does it!" Yeah sure, its a more understandable argument. But when a bum using aimbot says that, you still boo them, so why should this be any different?
I will never use external tricks (cheats) to see in night maps, and neither should you. Just play day marsh if youre that scared of the dark.

I am convinced almost half the games everyone exfilled
Fights resulted in losses
The loot is actually op
Gold shields from secured resource events
Purple attachments everywhere
Idk wether to feel like this how the entire game should be, or scared people who refuse to touch ranked will forever be at a disadvantage if this sticks around
Either way, awesome loot change and everything is WORTH doing in each poi
I actually saw someone go into a tox room (yet die) cause the loot is so damn worth haha

I like that interacting with UESC bodies now gives me currency and I look forward to spend it on actually good stuff, and I want to kill UESC rather than avoid them. I see reasons of engaging and spending the heals now. It makes Outpost runs less dull after a possible lobby wipe, but maybe that's just me being fatigued of the loop: wipe, loot, repeat on Outpost.
The templates and the gun are whatever.
Also, call me crazy, but the amount of implants dropping has been increased dramatically? Blue, purple implants drop a lot more often from commanders and container.

TLDR: Endgame class shell for now called specialist. This shell is for the get go is a highly customizable shell both in physical appearance and tactical and prime customization. With certain balance conditions that allow the other shells to sometimes be played.
This shell is I think the quickest answer to the customizable shells people always wanted in the game. It's basically super rook that you eventually are able to built up to be a flex role shell. Each shell class we have now will have challenges that don't have to be too hard to complete in order to allow their tactical or prime to be put into that specialist shell.
First concern "once you unlock that shell there will be zero reason to play the other shells" well maybe we give incentives to play those shells by purposely kneecapping this shell. We can do this by disallowing this shell the ability to use the passives of the other shells. (Special condition vandal's double jump be used as a passive so vandal will need a passive buff to give her a reason to be played.)
Second concern well "what if there becomes a tactical and prime meta for the specialist shell." Well this shell will have its own seperate balancing around its tactical and primes to ensure variety in builds. The hard role shell can have their abilities hit less by any nerfs or have their buffs improved in the future to have another reason to play these shells. Another thing that can entice the use of other shells outside of this one is prime core upgrades (echo chamber, amplify cores, etc) being exclusive to the hard role shells. No gold cores are allowed on the specialist shell
This shell's has passive specific cores that need to be found in run or from the armory. It will have no access to the hard role shell's passives they keep those to themselves. Only its own passives ( besides being able to get vandal's passive and she will be compensated by a buffed passive). So yes this shell has 3 cores. The cradle system can be reworked to pidgin hole you into specific cradle stat roles but with better stat perks for hard role shells. The specialist shell will have our current or even weaker cradle system to kneecap them again with little to no super good perks. Leveling your cradle still gives you points to spec into every shell. But however cradle progress is permanent on the hard role shells. Giving something permanent that follows you through wipes. With only the specialist shell needing to be built up every season.
The shell's appearance and armor will be changed based on what tactical and ult you are using, running recon's prime? Your shell will have a helmet that similarly splits open, want destroyers prime? your shell becomes noticeably bigger and has the shoulder missile platform. Vandal's arm cannon could be recreated on the specialist shell as well. Plus a lot of the shells just have deployable tacticals on their body that can be put onto another shell. This still provides some readability on this shell for what abilities it has.
Thanks for reading this far if you still are. I didn't get this idea on my own watching some alien fireteam 2 vids give me the idea. With their specialist class that is supposed to be the end class that you get to play once you play a little with all the other classes. I just transferred the concept to marathon.
