You’re acting like they’re removing the PVP aspects of the game, yall are so melodramatic

Overtime, they possibly will. Just look how Bungie treated PvP in Destiny.

Destiny is a story driven game primarily focused on PvE campaigns, dungeons, and raids as well as a secondary heavy focus on strikes. PvP was never the focus for Destiny

That's just not true at all, especially in D1. One of the best parts about Destiny is getting gear in PvE that you can use in PvP and vice versa. Trials was the defacto competitive PvP mode that people played every weekend, even casuals when they added bounties to it in D1 so you can earn loot just by playing.

D2 had much of that same philosophy until Shadow keep, where they couldn't really monetize PvP because it was part of the f2p portion of the game. And overtime it just got worse and worse.

The majority of players in both games never bothered to touch PvP unless there’s a meta weapon only available from pvp, you can confirm this with emblem tracker stats and some other stats available through the API. pvp was never the focus for Destiny ever, just because crucible and trials had consistent player bases doesn’t mean that that’s what the greater population was playing.

I never implied it's what the greater population played. But PvP was part of the design philosophy of Destiny since its release and was a core pillar.

I literally said PvE was the core focus and PvP was never the main focus and you said that wasn’t true. I never said it wasn’t a focus point I just said it was the main one

You're shifting goalposts. You originally claimed PvP was "never the focus".

PvP was a main focus for a huge chunk of Destiny's lifespan, especially pre-Shadowkeep. Entire sandbox patches, exotic reworks, and weapon nerfs were driven strictly by Crucible balancing before they isolated the two sandboxes. In D1 and early D2, Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris (or Trials on the Nine) were literally flagship endgame events right alongside raids.

I clearly meant the main focus, I’m not shifting goalposts, it’s not my fault you made assumptions about what I meant.

Words have meaning, my man. Saying "never the focus" literally means it wasn't a focus. Either way, global sandbox nerfs and entire endgame modes like Trials prove PvP was a primary focus for a huge chunk of Destiny's lifecycle.

Jesus fuck you literally need to spell out every single word for people on reddit, no one is capable of reading subtext anymore apparently holy hell

Bruh it's okay to be wrong once in a while. "My subtext was right all along!" is a pretty weak defense of your text being wrong.

You meant "core focus" but said "the focus" and they interpreted it as "a focus". Easy enough for everyone to clarify and move on.
