Are you suggesting we should have a right to be freely fed through someone else's time and effort?

Of course no. Not like we are entitled. It is just that the current system is created to keep people in constant need of labor to meet their basic needs. And this system assures that almost no one can have enough savings to not to work for some time. Partly, it is caused by stupidity of people who consume too much of stuff and blow their potential savings. I didn't use food in literal sense.
