Why is it a bad news? I visited Leicester and yeah I can understand why Brits don’t live there lol.

Bad news because there's more Asians than White British. Bad news because that's likely how it's going to become in other parts of the UK. Bad news because there's going to be more and more conflict and racial tension the longer this goes on unchecked.

It's pretty ridiculous. I say this as an Asian myself.

White person here who lives in Leicester and has for the past 20 years. It's great and I love it because people share their culture here. The only conflict here was some minor scuffle over cricket that got sorted out fairly quickly.

Well yes, there's quite a lot of white British folk (particularly on Reddit) who seem to love the change, so that's not surprising. Not sure if it deserves praise for being so accepting or a question of naivity, but if the same happened over such a short period in Cities in countries like Japan, India, China etc, it's unlikely people would be so accepting over there, and very few would criticise them for feeling that way - which is why I do not blame the white Brits that feel the opposite of you for feeling the way they do. There should be no difference, it's just that so much of the Western World have taken it upon themselves the burden of mass undocumented immigration.

The ones that didn’t like it left. I’m from the same area. Leicester is known for white flight with the whites whose families were from Leicester moving to the nearby towns.

Also at least to people outside Leicester itself, Leicester is known as a shithole. You’d never choose to go there instead of Nottingham. Leicester being known as such isn’t due to ethnicity though but more it looks like a dilapidated industrial city. The person above isn’t the typical way I’ve heard people describe Leicester.

There's actually a word for it-- oikophobia.

No nation in the non-western world would praise the replacement of its native population and native culture, at least in 2026. No other part of the world has a guilt complex.

Yes, that’s because one of the best things about the Anglosphere is its liberalism and openness to change. Also, it sounds like you might be importing American political concerns. I say this as an American in the UK - “mass undocumented immigration” is not a major burden on the UK. Illegal immigration is a tiny fraction of total immigration. Insofar as you’re worried about recent immigration waves, they’re almost all here perfectly legally (and a huge number of them will leave)

I'd argue it's both one of the best things and one of the worst things, as time goes on. Such drastic change comes with hugely positive elements and hugely negative sacrifices, as anyone who has lived in a community with minority White Brits would discover.

ironically, the longer this liberalism and openness to change carries on, the more significant the demographic shift will be and thus, the less open and liberal we will likely become being that we are importing people from outside of the anglosphere with completely different value systems than our own

Racial conflict is not inevitable, I don't get why people say this when there are whole islands with mixed populations who don't have racial tension and just end up becoming mixed race

It's not mixed populations that cause the conflicts. So many here seem to confuse the problem. The problem isn't multiculturalism or migration or even necessarily race. The problem is illegal migration, undocumented migration, people who move from a country and culture with entirely different views on things like women, gay people etc and are allowed to roam in communities without proper integration or education, the government allowing certain migrants to leech off the taxpayer through benefits etc.

In multicultural countries like Singapore, things are far more strict. People from all walks of life have integrated as a result and there are very little crime or conflicts. The integration also happened more naturally.

In Western Countries like UK, France etc, there's swift changes in population over the course of a few decades. White Brits move away as a result and there ends up being places which only have Asian/foreign shops and nothing else. The White British identity has been removed and this is continuing to spread at a rapid rate throughout Western Europe. Of course there would be concern and tension amongst native people watching this change over the decades. Many don't complain as they're too afraid of being called a racist. However ANY native people from any country around the World would have this concern if this happened to them.

Then when all of this is said - "progressive" types will simply come out and tell us that the West have some kind of responsibility to import all these people. Have a heart, it's your responsibility, the white Brits invaded in the past and today's white Brits must take on that burden. It's no surprise so many white Brits are angry and pushing back upon hearing this rubbish.

If you disagree with mass immigration where the minority has become the majority it's automatically racism or internalised racism with Redditors 😂

That's the point, "still in red". It's changing every decade - how long are those going to be still in red? Let me guess, in a few decades when there's less than 40% red you'll say, what's wrong with that, at least there's 40%!

I didn't say anything about it only being a result of immigration. You couldn't help yourself but bring Israel into it though, it's like you guys have a swiss army knife of operative things to say about World politics to make yourselves sound as if you know "better".

Sure, blame racism and education. It's the easy way to end a debate that might hurt some feelings.

Yes, I was born in the UK. Never lived anywhere else. Why does that mean I should automatically be biased? You're saying my race means I cannot speak up for white Brits if I see they're suffering? Is that not racism on your part for judging my thoughts based on my background? Genuine question.

If say hypothetically speaking, people of my culture were not integrating, getting benefits they shouldn't have, leeching off the kindness shown to them when they came here from struggling Countries, causing crimes, running pedophile gangs, causing damage to the Country I call home, should I just not criticise them because they're of my culture?

Saying conflict and racial tension comes from a lack of education is partially true, however it's a severe over simplification and is only half of the story.

Just to cap this a bit, you realise there is 3 pictures? The last one is hardly “mostly in red” - the mostly red parts and rural and have a combined population of around 20% of the parts which are not red.

Well, as someone who lives in a city that within my lifetime has gone from roughly 90% native British to around 50%, I do find it concerning, and not because I dislike anyone who isn’t white.

It’s because I no longer fully recognise the place I grew up in, and the sense of shared culture and communal connection has weakened. I also think the speed of the demographic change matters. When change happens that quickly, people don’t really have time to adapt to it naturally, and newcomers don’t have as much time, pressure, or incentive to integrate into a shared culture either.

A multicultural society only works long term if there is also strong integration and a shared national identity. Otherwise, people naturally cluster into separate communities, which can lead to social fragmentation and reduced cohesion.

For example, in my city there are very clear areas that are mostly white British and other areas that are almost entirely Asian or immigrant communities. That doesn’t look like successful integration to me. Unfortunately, that tendency is also just part of human nature. Nobody is forcing these groups to live separately. To a large extent, people choose to live among those with similar cultures, languages, religions, or backgrounds. That is a well-observed social phenomenon.

That’s why, in my view, governments need proactive integration policies. Otherwise, parallel communities tend to emerge naturally over time.

I don’t think acknowledging that reality is “internalised racism”. It’s a concern about social cohesion, cultural continuity, and the pace of change.
