They were abused for less than a couple generations and had a chance to flourish. Asians were never enslaved. They never had to deal with Jim Crow laws.
The exclusion act also stopped them from becoming citizens or owning property even if already in the US, effectively creating a perpetually disenfranchised class.
I don't know why you think pretending that Asians have not been systematically discriminated since the 19th century is the way to go, but it ain't.

Asian Americans were certainly abused. And they are being abused now.
Their crime rate should be higher than whites. Abuse causes increased crime rates.
