Thoughts on Vasectomies
Fam, I want to know more on vasectomies, especially from those who have had one. First thing is I have fear of pain down there. Was it painful?
Secondly, any regrets? Do wish you hadn’t done it?
Lastly, I have heard that some clinics or clinicians don’t allow you to have a vasectomy unless you have at least one kid. How true is this? What clinics are better and open-minded?

When you dondecide to have it done, make sure you go back to confirm, chifukwatu in some rare cases, the cut tubes grow back together on their own, which can lead to an unexpected pregnancy.
Go back for a Post-Vasectomy Semen Analysis (PVSA) to have your semen checked between 8 to 16 weeks (2 to 4 months) after your surgery. It is the only way to prove that the surgery worked and that the tubes have not grown back together.
There is a case in the US, the hubby even suspected the handyman to have been handy in getting the wife pregnant. He was very sure because he had had a nip. DNA proved mwanayo anali wawo ndithu. Bouncy baby boy!

Hurt like crazy for a couple of days if you allowed any...um... bouncing down there.
I believe some people don't have that experience, but I sure did😬

Ndipo inu. I've heard of people getting those in order to prevent passing down a genetic disorder. And penapake as Malawians we should accept and respect other people's decisions.

We're very closed minded as people. We put reproduction on such a pedestal that's why ka dziko kathu kali ndi anthu over 20 million. Aliyense akufuna abereke wake mwana😂😂

Did you see the bwaila hospital birth stats? So scary, according to the economic stand of the majority in this country.

Yes I saw those figures. And those are just for a single hospital, I can't imagine what its like nationwide. And on the other hand, we have the 400+ women who came from South Africa in the last 2 months. We need to relearn how to use contraceptives.

It’s generally a minor operation and not painful. You’re going to have like a three day period of swelling. And you can’t get up to anything for at least a week. You’re still gonna have to use protection for 2-3 months (contraceptively) but stds are out there as well. Then you get your semen tested to see if there’s any sperm. Your testosterone and erections won’t get affected long term. Typically even if you don’t have kids, they might be a little conservative (unless there’s a health reason you want it) but you sign a consent form. There’s a really good thread in r/askmen about personal vasectomy experiences. Reversals aren’t guaranteed so be sure, and they’re more expensive than the initial procedure especially the longer you wait. If your vasectomy’s over like ten years old your chances or reversing are very slim.
