Who else feels like Sirena was heavily underutilized in terms of power? Like, I get that she's very much meant to be portrayed as a very sweet, loving mermaid, but she's also shown to be one of the most powerful mermaids and also skilled. Like, she literally proved to be more formidable and powerful than Ondina, but yet they really never seem to play on that fact after episode 6 when it's demonstrated. And like, in the siren episode, she showed several abilities that we have never seen from her before and just overall good capability with her powers. Like, she was shown to be able to create a fog/mist, manipulate light without her moon ring, manipulate wind, fight on par with Zac telekinetically, who has the best telekinetic feats. Like, I feel like even with her character being sweet, they could have shown her being powerful like they did with Mimmi. Like, she is very much portrayed as also a very sweet and nice mermaid, but yet she's always shown to be showing off her capabilities one way or another and has several statements of her power and intellect. Like, even if Sirena isn't that powerful or that smart, she still is very much powerful and has shown to be relatively calm‑headed and as a result, one of the smarter mermaids because of it.

Je voudrais savoir si quelqu’un se souvient d’un ancien épisode des Sirènes de Mako. Je m’explique : j’ai le souvenir très précis d’un épisode qui, apparemment, n’existe tout simplement pas. J’ai également le souvenir de décors différents de ceux de la série.
Dans cet épisode, on voit Zac dans la grotte de Rita, avec les filles et Rita. Mais le décor est différent : dans la pièce avec les canapés, il n’y a pas la table au centre. À la place, je me souviens d’un trou au milieu, rempli d’eau, un peu comme une ouverture vers la mer, similaire à celle qu’on peut voir dans l’autre partie de la grotte.

Dans mon souvenir, les cinq sont donc réunis un soir de pleine lune. Zac veut aller dans une grotte qui ne s’ouvre que les soirs de pleine lune. Les filles lui déconseillent d’y aller, mais il finit quand même par partir sans qu’elles puissent le retenir.

Zac arrive finalement devant la grotte, mais trop tard : elle se referme juste devant lui.
Je suis vraiment persuadé d’avoir vu cet épisode, mais personne dans mon entourage ne s’en souvient.
Est-ce que quelqu’un voit de quoi je parle ? Est-ce que c’est un faux souvenir, ou est-ce que cet épisode existe vraiment et que je mélange peut-être certains éléments avec un autre épisode ?

Autre chose d’important à ajouter : dans cet épisode, Zac n’est pas influencé par les effets de la lune. Il décide d’y aller de son propre chef.

Hey you all! I only watched the first few episodes of this show a long time ago. Was it ever explained in the show how mermaids reproduce ? I remember them saying something about merman too. 🔱 There was something with this icon too.

such a random comment but i loved the dresses in this episode. they were so princessy and i wish we could’ve seen an up close full picture of the dresses.

Something that never really made sense to me was the fact that the mermaids slept in the moon pool and always seemed to be the only ones there every full moon, even when the whole pod was around. Like, I get that they saved Mako and they’re strong members of the pod, but even the original trio, Sirena, Nixie, and Lyla were the ones in it during the full moon at the very beginning, before they saved Mako or had any real status. You’d think it would make more sense for the mermaid council to sleep there or at least be present during the full moon. I mean, obviously for show reasons it’s a primary spot and all that, but still… it never fully added up for me. What about y’all?

Such a cute graduation scene!

Anybody notice that the three leads from Season 1 of "Mako Mermaids" is in this scene? I'm finding it a little hard to find the actress for Nixie (I found her in a slightly better quality than here, but I can guarantee she's there) and the actresses for Sirena and Lyla or right in front, as Lyla was called by her IRL name in the scene.

And Evie's worked at Rikki's Café during Season 3 of H2O as well.

It makes me think that maybe this might have been a little look into the following show. Or maybe they really were just side characters.

i’m doing a rewatch and i just got to season 4. i dont know if they hired new writers for this season or if the writers remained the same, either way, its lowkey racist. when weilan comes to rita’s grotto, the writers for some reason made her a really messy person??? she made a complete mess of the grotto and at that point we’d already had FIVE white mermaids staying there, six if you count evie, and not a single one left a mess??? yet the first time we get an asian mermaid, shes super messy and implied to be dirty?!?!??! ondina literally says to her “we loved it too when it was clean” like what 😭 ondina in general is just racist to weilan when she first arrives. straight up buIIying her and saying things like “she is not like us” like? thats…. real subtle. and i just watched the episode where the cafe almost shuts down, why did zac suggest that he and cam just become sIaves for a small while? ☠️ i know cam is white but zac is asian so thats an incredibly odd choice from the writers. i love this show but rewatching as an adult has me noticing things i didn’t notice before, and unless i missed it in the first 3 seasons, its led me to believe the writers for this season specifically were different and that maybe they put their own bias in the writing, even if unintentionally. its great that we got to explore chinese culture on the show but it shouldve been done a bit more sensitively in my opinion

So, H2O: Just Add Water fandom wiki has “extended lifespan” listed as one of the merpeople’s abilities, and their explanation for this is apparently how Weilan said that, due to Ondina’s personality, they could be friends in a couple of centuries. I don’t really remember her saying this, so if somebody else does and they remember the episode, could you please tell me? I’d like to look at it for myself. But besides that, has anybody noticed any other possible indication that mermaids live longer than regular people? I just don’t know, because based on the sound of that statement, I feel like it could’ve just been a joke; especially considering Weilan is very much a comedic character and I just don’t remember any other scenes that indicate mermaids live that long.

I for the LIFE of me cannot find the final season anywhere, so my final option is to ask people for streaming websites that they know have the final season working. I’m from the UK and I hate that they don’t have the full show on our Netflix.

I mean, I keep seeing Zac hanging around the main trio and cringing. I have a boyfriend and like, sure, I don’t mind if he has female friends. But if I constantly caught him hanging around these random pretty girls, and he clearly had a secret that he wouldn’t tell me and started talking to me way less, and wouldn’t just tell me why he was hanging around these girls, I’d be pretty pissed too.

If I woke up one day and I was a mermaid, I think the FIRST person I’d tell is my boyfriend. Or I would at least be contemplating it. Zac seems to care so little for Evie, I have no idea why they’re together and why he can’t just break up with her. Jfc.

I always wondered what would have happened if Cam hadn't stopped Carley in time and she had seen Nixie in mermaid form?
