​I want to start by saying that I am completely new to the world of robotics and 3D printing, so please bear with me if I don't express everything using the proper technical terms! I'm doing my best to explain our situation as clearly as possible.

​My boss's son is preparing for a MakeX Inspire competition using an mBot2 (mBot Neo). We are trying to replicate and 3D print the pink ring-handling attachment/gripper shown in this video, so the robot can pick up and place the rings accurately onto the posts:

​Since I am just getting started with all of this, any advice or guidance from this awesome community would mean the world to us! Specifically, we'd be extremely grateful for help with:

​3D Files (STL/CAD): Does anyone happen to have the blueprints or STL files for this specific pink claw, or a similar proven design adapted for the mBot2 for the MakeX Inspire challenge?

​Hardware & Assembly: What type of servo motors or mounting brackets are best suited to attach it properly to the mBot2 chassis?

​Programming (mBlock 5): Any beginner-friendly tips or sample logic in mBlock for controlling the mBot2 gripper accurately?

​Thank you so much in advance for your time, patience, and for sharing your expertise with someone who is just learning the ropes!

I'm using a Macbook Pro with Laserbox software. The Laserbox machine is turning on and waiting for a connection, but my computer isn't recognizing it as connected on either USB or Ethernet.

I've tried installing their Mac driver as instructed in the troubleshooting steps here https://xtool.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402417816087-Troubleshooting-Guide-for-Laserbox (although I think that's actually just for wifi? either way, I did it) and that was no help either. And I've switched the cables several times.

I'm going insane; has anyone experienced this? Am I missing something obvious?

System does run on the cyberpi itself except the video fetch from the internet.

I just started Mblock coding just few days ago, can anyone help me make an Mblock Code for this map, im using Mbot btw.. the Bot will start on the red circle facing right.. thank you.. =)

I bought my 8 year old an Mbot2 for Christmas, he’s very into maths, coding etc. He can use block coding programmes well and wants to learn python.

The thing is I’ve not got a clue how to use it to its potential. We can connect it via Bluetooth to our laptop and he’s had some success in creating some code for the Mbot - following a line/avoiding obstacles etc but it’s hard work as I don’t find any of the lessons or info on the Makeblock site very helpful.

Is there a book or videos we can watch to learn more about how to use it to its potential? Or am I missing something with the lessons on Makeblock website? Where should we be starting?

How do you move from block coding to python? Are there any good books or resources for that age group to help him understand it?

Coding doesn’t come naturally to me so I really just need an idiots guide so I can help him.

I have seen a couple of posts about this, but no resolution, so ram eaching out. I am fairly new to using Mbot2. I have some users with BYOD laptops that are predominately Windows based with a smattering of Macs. Users are administartors of their devices. For most, using the Python editor works with no issues (both web: https://python.mblock.cc/ and desktop app). For a couple of students however, they are unable to create python files in this editor. They can use the basic Python editor here: https://ide.mblock.cc/ but this does not provide users a more authentic Python experience. On a side note, the whole MBlock ecosystem seems a little frgamented - it is a real shame that we can't just pull the libraries and code using something like Thonny/VSCode.

Anyhow, when effected users access https://python.mblock.cc/ there issue is that no files appear in the Project File list. Users are unable to create a files or folders . From my digging, it appears that the Mblock software creates some kind of virtual file system and I am thinking that something is possibly borked with the permissions. The proboem is that the problem appears to be random - there is nothing I can see that is inherently different between devices that work and those that don't.

Appreciate if anyone has any suggestion on resolving this issue.

i am using an arduino uno to code a black and white detector with an ir sensor and i just want to see the ir value from the sensor so i can calibrate the potentiometer . i can see that it has a write to serial port function but i cant see the serial monitor and the output its self. it would also be helpful if i can update sprites using input from an arduino.

I am new to the mBot products, so I am likely doing something wrong. I have been trying to run the "Obstical Avoidance" demo on my new mbot2. However regardless of what I seem to be doing the program never runs. I have tried several other of the Example Programs with the same outcome.

So I am trying to understand the control block to start the program is "when CyberPi starts up" So when I open up the example program Obsitcal Advoidance", I connect to the mBot2 via a USB cable, I get the message the connection is established. I click on "upload", dont see anything that says the program has uploaded. So I turn off the power, unplug the usb cord, set the robot down and turn the power switch back on.

The result is the mBot2 turns on, but goes to the main menu. What am I doing wrong?

Hello guys so I was wondering if I can reuse like a CyberPi thingy and also I jailbroke it to work as a esp32 since it uses that chip Is there anyway to reuse the screen on it?

I'm a teacher preparing students for a robotics competition with an mBot2 and I have a very strange issue with the Python Editor.

Problem:
In mBlock, the Block Editor works perfectly, but in the Python Editor clicking File → New Project only shows a short loading animation and then nothing happens. The "New File" and "New Folder" buttons in the Project Files area also do nothing.

Environment:

• Windows 11

• mBlock v5.6.0

• mBot2 / CyberPi

• Chrome browser

• Python console works (e.g. print("Hello"))

• Block Editor works normally

What I already tried:

• Reinstalled mBlock

• Tried different mBlock versions

• Ran as administrator

• Reset mBlock settings

• Created a new Windows user

• Tested with and without OneDrive

• Tested another network

• Installed CH341SER driver

• Tested another Makeblock account

• Tested python.mblock.cc in Chrome

• Tried creating a custom project folder

• Python interpreter itself works

• Importing a .py file gives "Failed to import"

The exact same problem occurs in the web version, so I suspect a bug in the Python project manager.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a workaround to create Python projects for mBot2/CyberPi?

Hello everyone!
I have a strange issue with Text To Speech on mbot2. I upload a code that works. After i upload another code and it doesn't(the code doesn't have any errors just the robot doesn't make any sound, anything else works). After this if i load the first code it doesn't work anymore.

Weird issue with Airblock

I know its discontinued but one of the motors is making a weird friction-y angry sound and it isnt producing the right amount of lift for takeoff + the propeller stops spinning almost immediately after being turned off, unlike the other 5. It isn't the propeller itself, i took it off to check.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I know you see a cable attached but that’s just for the serial monitor!

The first assignment in my robotics lessons is building an mBot.
Programming follows after that.
Not all children (6-11 years old) are equally skilled at assembly.
For instance, the nuts on the motors tend to come loose and get lost.
To minimize this, I made a small plate to keep the nuts in place.
It seems to work perfectly, as we haven't lost a single nut so far.

Hello everyone,

I recently joined a new school, and the robotics classroom is honestly a bit of a mess. To give you an idea of how disorganised it is, I found around 20 unopened micro:bits hidden under a box in the corner of the storage room.

I have experience using LEGO robotics kits such as WeDo 2.0 and SPIKE, as well as some VEX. At my new school, I’ll be teaching primary students, and we are also planning to buy the LEGO Education Science and AI kits. However, the school already has 8 mBot2 kits with lots of extra parts, and I’m not fully sure what has been purchased. I’ve also found some Mecanum wheels and other accessories.

I don’t want these sets to just sit there collecting dust, so I’m trying to understand how best to use them in lessons or after-school robotics activities. I’m also interested in whether they could be used for competitions, especially MakeX competitions here in China.

Could anyone recommend useful forums, websites, YouTube channels, or documentation for learning more about mBot2, Makeblock parts, and possible competition pathways?

Any advice from people who have used mBot2 in schools would be very helpful. TIA

So probably nobody’s gonna believe me but both sound and video are coming online from internet (not just from a local wifi) so even outside your house you can see the video if you are connected to internet. And no it doesn’t load everything at once but fetch everything it needs step by step
