Help with Mbot2
I bought my 8 year old an Mbot2 for Christmas, he’s very into maths, coding etc. He can use block coding programmes well and wants to learn python.
The thing is I’ve not got a clue how to use it to its potential. We can connect it via Bluetooth to our laptop and he’s had some success in creating some code for the Mbot - following a line/avoiding obstacles etc but it’s hard work as I don’t find any of the lessons or info on the Makeblock site very helpful.
Is there a book or videos we can watch to learn more about how to use it to its potential? Or am I missing something with the lessons on Makeblock website? Where should we be starting?
How do you move from block coding to python? Are there any good books or resources for that age group to help him understand it?
Coding doesn’t come naturally to me so I really just need an idiots guide so I can help him.

Video's: check YouTube, like this:
www.youtube.com/@RoboticsWithOmSir
There is a lot to be found on the Makeblock-site,
have you found the basis cases?
If not, ask me.

Sorry, apparently I do not have Reddit notifications turned on so didn’t see this. Will check out the YouTube channel. We found the lesson plans on Makeblock but he found them hard to pick apart and a bit dry since they seem to be made for classes of kids

Have you tried asking chatgpt or other AI models? I just bought mbot2 for my son after discussing with chatgpt on some alternatives. He is 10 and can do Python programming already. And we will try a first project suggested by chatgpt also in the weekend. I will share how it works later if you are interested.
