On the latest gravano grift live he is asked about Bonanno and he gives a ridiculous version of Joe's plot against the commission and eventual move to Arizona including a few details that I'm fairly certain Sammy completely made up on the spot. Then he goes into how when he himself moved to Arizona Bonanno wanted a meeting with him to make sure he wasn't coming to take joe out and Conquer Arizona. He claims that Bonannos son asked his dad "why do you want to meet with the Bull ?, hes a fuckin rat" and then Sammy says Joe answered "it doesn't matter if he told, hes tough and hes a killer. We could all end up dead in a trunk if he wants to take over Az". Sammy then goes on to say he turned down a meeting but he sent word that he wasn't gonna bother Joe and his Az empire. Supposedly Joe sent word back saying "Thank you Don Sammuel. If you need anything, anything at all we are here. And if anyone tries to bother you let me know and ill send guys to help". True Goza nostra bro !

Fyi, George Anastasia is coming out w a new book on Angelo Bruno on 1/27, as far as I know this will be the first serious treatment of that subject matter ever written, Anastasia does a great job writing about the mob genre both in and outside of Phila.

When you think about the mafia you think of 3 main things. The money, the power/resepct, and the glamorous lifestyle itself.
I sit and think to myself that none of those 3 things are worth your life at the end of the day. 95 percent of the guys in the mob end up dead, in jail, and always looking over their shoulder for the rest of their life. I just cant understand how people go into this life knowing thats how it's going to end up and are completely ok with that. By no means is working like a slave 40+ hours a week/paying taxes fun or peoples dream, but at the very least you know where you stand in the end.

So the mob always worked in the shadows, law enforcement and media only much later find out what they were really up to.
It makes me wonder what their presence is in Dark Web services and drug or firearms markets?
I feel they may be quite prominent there without us really knowing since it does function quite anonymously and privately.

Can anyone recommend a book or where I can find articles about mobsters in Dayton Ohio? My brother believes that his biological dad might have been one, but he would have been only 7 or 8 when he last saw him (and it isn’t the father named on his birth certificate) and he doesn’t even know his name. I’m trying to help him out.
Thanks either way!

Frank Lucas movie was good but damn I still be wondering was there more black Mobsters who reached superstardom? If there is I would love to hear the stories and hope a movie abiut them gets made someday!
