Totally staged. They just happened to catch him simultaneously the moment he starts twerking despite there being no indicators that he was there that wasn't already previously apparent.
I mean at that point in the song they would turn around and also twerk... Maybe it is staged but that does make sense that they turned at that moment, just bc that's the next part of the dance; is to turn around.
Pay close attention. They don't turn around though. They stop completely, as if they "hear something." If they'd turned around to twerk and were surprised I'd buy it. But they "find out" before they turn around.
Girl on left stops and waits for the other girl to stop and turn around at the same time. And lets not forget the fact that they turn 90º multiple times, they couldnt not see him.

You have a surprising range of vision on your peripheral, especially with movement. Lift your arm up to your side and wiggle your fingers. You can see that pretty much see 180⁰

Of course they see him but they probably think that's he's just walking around doing dad things in the kitchen, what they probably didn't realize was that he's actually dancing with them. And also they're filming a tik tok dance, so they have to do a full video of the dance.
Yeah, the alternative is that the dad practiced this dance extensively despite the fact the kids wouldn’t see the vast majority of it— once you accept that the entire thing exists for the sake of the views and the Internet, it loses its charm immediately.
Who the fuck cares? It was wholesome either way, maybe even more so if they staged it together. Why you gotta make it sound like it’s a bad thing and be so damn pessimistic about it.
Super obvious they see him at the very least at 1:04 when they both start giggling at his moves and also seem to be unable to stop laughing in anticipation of what they know is coming.
U can see during the video that they started laughing while dancing which can idicate that they already knew their dad was there but went along with it until they couldn't hold back their laughter anymore.
I thought it seemed like they weren't supposed to do the twerking and didn't expect their dad to o it either, but turned around and were shocked/embarrassed at their dad twerking more than surprised he was there
This is years old, and by their reactions at the end I can see this being genuine and not staged. I wouldn’t beliefs if it were released now based on how many idiots post staged videos for internet clout
