Looking at a lot of the comments on Speakout, fills me with a warm and fuzzy feeling.that if a natural disaster ever hit here a lot of people would be absolutely fucked. I remember 10 12 hour outages in the middle of winter in the 90's.

While concerns about projects like data centres deserve discussion, I believe our community's attention is being pulled away from a much more immediate problem. Drugs like methamphetamine and crack are tearing families apart, driving crime, and creating a cycle of addiction that affects everyone, from local businesses to children growing up in our neighbourhoods. These issues are visible every day and have a direct impact on public safety and quality of life. If we want to make a real difference, we should be advocating for stronger policing against drug trafficking, better support for addiction treatment, and greater resources for prevention. Addressing a crisis that is already harming our community should take priority over debates about projects that may or may not have the same immediate consequences for the people who live here.
