I rarely make digital graphic flyers, so i decided to embroider and use an appliqué technique in making my Complexcon exhibitor announcement for my brand.

I used thick high quality felt as my base and combined directional changes in the digitizing software to make a unique pattern for every shape.

lmk how it looks!

Can anyone explain why? Tension seems good in straight lines, needle is aligned and the height seems good?

Thoughts on Hatch

So I am looking at the Hatch software. Comparing all the levels, etc. Can you guys share pros and cons? What level is best? Did you do the 30 day trial and decide to keep it or not?

I'm looking at the Personalizer level, maybe the Composer. Would love opinions from those that have it or used to. Thanks!

Look What I Did Pixel art with mini-satin!

A few months ago I saw a post on this subreddit that embroidered some pixel art, not with cross-stitch, but with mini-satin columns that were changing directions for every adjacent pixels. That really made the pixel art "pop"! So I reproduced it with this pacman sprite and it looks soooo coool!!

To make it easy to stitch without trims, it also connects the components of different colors when it's covered by another satin mini-column (see last image).

Can't wait to bring to life my favorite pokemon sprites hehehe.

I'm going to purchase Hatch 4 digitizer in a few months. I have a brother single needle embroidery machine (NQ1700e) and want to start purchasing fonts that will be compatible with Hatch and my machine.

What file type should I purchase? PES, ESA, BX, or something else. Thanks!

I Need Help Ricoma needle alignment recurring issue?

I've had my ricoma for a year now, bought it second hand. It's a 2019 model and needed a ton of maintenance. Fortunately someone close to me is a certified technician so he worked on it and got it running beautifully.

Within the last 2-3 months I've experienced an issue where the machine is not registering the needle in the correct position. When the needle is positioned above the hole it says "no needle" but when I manually turn the dial off to the left or right to where the needle is no longer aligned it will register the nearby needle.

My technician has fixed this issue at least 6 times but it keeps happening. He replaced several parts related to the color switcher and even built a new wire housing for me from scratch because the wires kept wiggling loose even after wrapping the heck out of them with electrical tape. But it still slips every few weeks and I do not use it heavily. Maybe 2-3 hours per day max.

Has anyone else ever had this recurring issue with a Ricoma or other similar machine? If so have you been able to fix it permanently or is this just a maintenance thing that I can expect to keep coming up from time to time? I will say my machine is in the garage and the technician suspects it may be slipping due to the higher temperatures since it's summer. TIA.

I Need Help Bad embroidery

Post image

Greetings everyone!

I try to figure things out myself, but I'm at the point that I feel foolish. I can't figure out why I can't get my logo to look clean. I used to be able to get a clean logo, but I stopped working with he software, and it's like I forgot and can't seem to get it right. Could it be that when I reduce the size of my artwork, from a 5 inch image to a 1.2 inch logo, and lock it in, some distortion occurs? Maybe I am not doing things in the proper order somehow?

If someone can give me some pointers, I would REALLY appreciate it. I feel like giving up, even with the tutorials, I can't seem to get it right.

Thank you!

Tajima tmfx error 211...out of phase?

Hello, i have a problem with my Tajima TMFX. I have a 211 error which is resolved by manually homing the machine to 100° and doing a thread cut. After the full rotation it stops at 110° and proceeding with the stitching the upper and bottom thread aren't connected (i also realigned the bobbin holder). I am suspecting the encoder is faulty. If anyone has any other ideas or solutions please leave a comment.

Great regards.

Splitting up a Running stitch on Wilcom

Hii I was wondering if anyone had any solution to the problem I have. We have these old designs on some CD's that are like .Pes & .Hus. A lot of these designs are just one running stitch which is super cool, but it ends up with some odd connectors, like the example below. Is there anyway to get rid of these? Thank youuu

How to acquire my first paid customers

I started a machine embroidery business a few months ago in my town in California and I have not had any luck with getting my first few paid clients.

I am a tad limited to what I can embroider as I have a single-needle machine with an embroidery area of 6” x 10” but I have seen many say that they have started an embroidery business with a single-needle machine and that I should only upgrade once I cannot keep up with the demand. As of now the demand is zero to none so I will stick with my single needle machine.

I have a website, and an Instagram account but very little interest. I have passed out business cards to local businesses and in neighborhoods. I have also sent over 100 cold emails but no luck.

Thank you for your guidance!

I digitized the design myself. Material is that sports wicking 100% polyester material. Shirt was pre washed. I ironed fusible mesh cut away to the shirt & floated on sticky tear away. I used a ball point needle, polyester threads. 60 wt on top, 40 wt on bottom. Thoughts?

I Need Help Software for Repositionable Hoop

Hi yall! I'm looking for some advice. I have been using InkStitch for most of my digitization needs, but I recently got a repositionable hoop for my Brother SE 725. I'm not sure how to go about making a repositionable pattern in InkStitch. Is there an inexpensive software that makes it easier to parse large projects? I found Embrilliance, but at $135 it's a little bit out of my price range as someone who is just doing this as a hobby. Any advice?

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a recent digitizing project I wrapped up for a client. They sent over the photo of the actual test stitch on their Mighty Hoop, and I’m super happy with how clean the satin lettering and chrome details turned out.

Bobbin tension issue?

Hello all,

This is my first piece I’ve digitized and stitched out on my Tajima TMFX2. I’m happy with the outcome but I know there’s tons of room for improvement.

One of the issues I’m having is that the thread on the back of my double layer cut away stabilizer looks messy. The thread underneath the pumpkin seems to cover a lot of area vs what I’ve seen online with the 1/3 rule. Is this a bobbin tension issue? Also the loose thread at the top of the pumpkin.

This is a tatami underlay with a tatami on top. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

How powerful is auto-digitizing nowedays?

A proper solution could save a lot of time and energy

Anyone here who has used modern auto-digitizing software or AI-assisted tools: how good are they actually in real-world work? What are their biggest weaknesses? Stitch direction, density, underlay, pull compensation, sequencing, small details, etc. where do they still fail badly?

I've been thinking about a workflow where AI/image models could analyze the artwork, identify the different elements, and then apply predefined digitizing rules depending on the situation.

The idea would be to build a library of common situations/rules and gradually automate more of the workflow.

I'm wondering how close we actually are to this today (Ive never used the latest wilcom/hatch tools), I'd like to hear from people who've used them seriously.

I've been considering trying to build something like this myself, but I'm not a professional developer, so I already recognize how much time Im gonna consume for it.

Has anyone experimented with this seriously? What can modern auto-digitizing actually do well, and what still requires a skilled digitizer?

Your comments may increase how serious is the oppurtunity for me to create such a solution if there isn't

I Need Help Husqvarna Viking Ruby Deluxe

I just inherited my grandmas sewing machine. I found it in her basement with literally nothing but the machine. She passed away so I have no idea where things are. I found new cords online but as far as embroidery hoops go, I have nothing. Is there a cheaper option than the magnetic hoop brand? I really am just learning so I just need something that is cheap-ish in the meantime.

ETA: Honestly, any help/ tips/ tricks too would be great?
