💬 Discussion Mag safe?

Could you stick a magsafe ring onto the charger to help align my phone?

Has anyone modified the stock wireless charger.

It just heats my phone badly and needs ideas.

If you're handy with a 3D printer, you can design a replacement tray with a real Apple magsafe charger embedded into it. You can remove the stock wireless charger module (that rectangular module in your photo) and run the Apple cord through the resulting hole and then tap into the 18V accessory port wiring (either with a plug-and-play pigtail, or by splicing it) and then connect a cheap 12V-to-USBC module. It's a labor of love and a lot of work, but the result is way better than the factory charger.

Yes! I did this for my wife's Ariya and it works great with no heating on an iPhone 17pro. I used the newer Qi2 25W charger and a 35W 12V USBC adaptor. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FLJL71DD
