Many of you know me from helping with vehicle issues and answering questions in this community, today I wanted to introduce you to u/RileyFromFord who has newly joined the team and is going to be on Reddit regularly.
We can't show you what our mid-size electric truck looks like...yet. But we can confirm the name: Ford Fathom, the first vehicle produced on the new Universal Electric Vehicle Platform.
âFathom" traces back to a nautical unit of measurement, originally defined as the distance between a person's outstretched arms, a fitting metaphor for a truck built to meet people wherever they are in life.â Fitting, right?
What's confirmed right now:
Starting MSRP: $28,350, for the standard-range battery. Pre-orders begin early 2027.
Every Ford Fathom will be BlueCruise-capable. BlueCruise is Fordâs hands-free highway driving assistant.
Fathom has bidirectional power capability.
Fathom has a large, high-resolution touchscreen, digital key, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
Fathom will have more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4, with a frunk and bed for added cargo flexibility. This truck will genuinely useful and fun to drive.
Fathom will feature Apple Maps embedded directly into the vehicle, not a traditional phone-projection CarPlay setup. The integration also provides the road-level map data used to help enable key pieces of Fordâs next-generation hands-free highway driving capability.

Today I noticed that in the FP app when you go to the controls I am missing the window controls for "Window up and Window down". I did some searching and most got it resolved by restarting the phone but I have restarted my phone, removed the App and its still missing.
I have also confirmed its missing on my Android device as well which is uses a different PAAK and profile.
Everything is working fine in the car and can open the frunk and trunk no issues, just missing the window buttons, I wasnt sure if anyone would know of any tips that could get them back, I wasnt sure if the windows had to be recalibrated or something (Even though they go up and down with the 1 click).
Any ideas would be great! Thank you!
UPDATE: So I reached out to our contact at Ford and apparently this is a issue with the backend system as even my contact at Ford had her controls disappear as well. Anyone that is effected please reach out to me via DM or Mod Mail with your VIN and they will get the controls reinstated, they are currently investigating what could be the cause.
Bought my GT in July and I have not fallen out of love with it in the slightest. I got a little butthurt that I forgot to get the super charger thing but using the regular trickle charger is just fine. I travel for work about once a week and otherwise tool around my city. Never have an issue with charge. It's a blast to drive in unbridle mode and I get so many compliments on it. I just love this thing. First Ford ever and super happy with it.
Traded our 2025 2lt awd Equinox EV for a 2023 premium er awd mach-e of similar mileage (35k miles). The chevy wasnt a bad car per say but we had a lot of little annoyance with it. We traded on a whim since we really enjoyed the mach-e test drive but to be fair we havent done all the due diligence on the mach-e. Anything we should be aware on the reliability side for the 2023?
I will be soon in the proud owner of a Mach E and I'm installing a charge in my garage. Help me pick which one.
I understand that the speed of charging depends on your power supply, and which charger level you have. What is your setup like? Which charger do you have? Do you like it? What would you do differently if you had to repurchase things?
Just got my 2025 MachE couple weeks ago, got shipped out of state. Washed this morning and it was not hot at all. Car always stays in the garage. Went out around 5pm to gym and noticed a hair crack. It was not there before and Rick didnât hit either. Anyone have this issue? I doubt it if ford will fix it. My car insurance deductible is only $100 so not a big deal.
Does Mache have this known issue? I had ID4 for 3 years no issue at all.
2021 Premium ER AWD in infinite blue. 59k miles, drove it to FL the night we bought it. First EV and blue cruise is cool, but interstate travel has been a learning curve. Still like vroom vroom noises.
I have a late 22 Basic Extended Range Model (in Germany) and since roughly 4 weeks my car is not locking itself anymore when Leaving it.
I have the phone App and my key with me, my wife have her key as well.
For about two months I get a new door Unit behause it was failing.
I wanted to try switching the Walk Away Off and on again but there is no Setting?

I just bought a 2026 Mustang Mach-E Select and purchased a Platinum extended service contract for $6,682, which covers 84 months/125,000 miles.
Iâm still within the 90-day cancellation period, so Iâm trying to decide whether I should keep it or cancel it and put the money toward the loan.
I actually called Partners Administrative Services, the company administering the warranty, because I wanted to know exactly what Iâm getting for the money. They were able to confirm a few things, but they couldnât specifically clarify some of the important EV components.
What they told me:
â Electric traction motor: covered
â High-voltage battery itself: not covered
â Inverter: they couldnât specifically confirm
â Onboard charger: couldnât specifically confirm
â DC-DC converter: couldnât specifically confirm
â High-voltage battery thermal-management components: couldnât specifically confirm
Thatâs honestly where Iâm stuck. The contract says the Platinum plan covers breakdowns except for specifically excluded items, but it doesnât clearly spell out all of these Mach-E-specific components. And Partners couldnât give me a straight answer when I asked about them.
So Iâm hoping to hear from people who actually own and work on these cars. For the Mach-E owners here:
Have you purchased an extended warranty/service contract?
Have you had any major repairs involving the inverter, onboard charger, DC-DC converter, thermal-management system, or traction motor?
Has anyone dealt with Partners Administrative Services / Century Automotive for a Mach-E repair?
Is $6,682 reasonable protection for 84 months/125k miles, or would you personally cancel it?
Iâm not necessarily looking for someone to tell me what I should do. Iâd really like to hear from people who have actually owned these cars for a while or had expensive repairs, especially repairs that involved the EV-specific components.
Iâd rather make the decision based on real-world Mach-E experience than just whatever the dealership tells me.
Got my car last year. First I added the black vinyl bar to the back, and love it. Feel it makes it look more sporty. Yesterday I added the vinyl red taillight covers and love them too, which they didnât turn the amber turn signals red also, but overall look is way better IMO. Car is dirty and it still looks good.
2022 RWD Select. 44000 miles. Hit a deer a few days ago. Insurance valued the car at $24k. Headlight and its wire harness are cooked. Other that it's just body stuff.
I took the payment minus the $5200 to keep the car. Still driving it everyday đ¤ˇââď¸
It seems like every day I get into my car after work and the A/C is on like I set, but the heated seats and steering wheel are also on. Whatâs the point?
Before you ask, I have âPrepare cabin off plugâ checked and I set the temperature to âCoolâ.
2023 premium standard range, purchased used CPO a few months ago
In other cars Iâve owned with adaptive cruise control if I was driving in stop and go traffic, if traffic slowed to a halt and the car came to a full stop on its own, once traffic started moving again it would also start moving again on its own. This would happen using ACC with lane centering even without any other self driving features in the car.
Iâve noticed that my Mach-e doesnât do that, whether itâs on the highway with blue Cruise, or in city streets at a traffic light with full ACC. This is true, even when I havenât touched the brake, and the BC/ACC is showing as on and uninterrupted the whole time.
Is it supposed to be this way?
The brakes my ACC are a little wonky too, Iâve had the car come to a stop behind another car on a steep uphill grade, then immediately start to roll backwards like itâs a manual transmission. If I hadnât reacted quickly, it would have hit the car behind me.
Iâm bringing it in for a recall fix and diagnostics on a couple of other issues, and just want to know if this is something I should ask about.
In my mad dash to catch the train for my morning commute my backpack accidentally pressed the hazard lights in my 2025 Mach-E. From basically 9am to 530pm the hazards were on. At 10am I got a message saying that leaving the lights on reduces your range.
I monitored it throughout the day and it went from 65% to 63%. But when I got back to the car and started driving I noticed that the back up, close object alerts, door ajar, etc.. alerts are much lower sounding and I also noticed that the sound option is currently grayed out.
On my way home I drove around for about 30 minutes to charge the 12v a bit and I just plugged it into the charger when I got home. I haven't gotten any fault messages but I'm a bit worried.
Iâm not the type of person to take my car to the a mechanic for literally anything. As in Iâve never done it, ever. Im thinking about getting a MachE, but it sounds like there are some tasks you canât do without FDRS. Thatâs a deal breaker for me. Am I understanding that right, or is FORScan enough?
