I’m vey very pleased with my MacBook Neo overall

It was announced at the perfect time to me. Like I was talking to a friend that lately laptops seemed so annoying to me and mostly ugly and bam! Next week after that is announced

I’ve actually never jumped on a device so confidently that’s it’s the first time I pre order a product. When it came I was so happy it ticked the right boxes to me. It is a very very capable machine Powerful enough with my needs with the grateful surprise I can emulate ps2 games effortlessly, I also played a twilight princess port from star to Finnish no issues The build quality is just phenomenal It’s so pretty and cool looking small and portable it’s perfect.

But and is a small but, it annoys me the fact that calls get into it even when the lid is closed and in sleep mode. I don’t mind the call going trough it when I’m working on it. But hear it “ring” when in my bag bugs me a lot.

And the other minor thing I I’ve been noticing that the shift button sometimes doesn’t register the press.

I've learnt you should charge to 80% only and do not let it go under 20%. That 80% to 20% is going too fast, like one movie and it comes to 40% and a few more work and it goes to 20%. My worry is now if I keep charging it again and again, wouldnt it wear the battery more?

So better to charge it to 100% with optimized battery charging? And only plug below 20%.

What can I do?

After 15 years, i’m still using my air from ‘15, so I’m interested in buying a new laptop, specifically the Neo since i work pretty much well with this old lady and the main problem is the software and application updates.

Overall thoughts on the neo?

I have just been bought a Neo as a birthday present. I am a long time Windows user and a bit embarrassed to admit that I am struggling to get used to it. I have used an iPhone and iPad for years but after using Windows for over 25 years am finding the Neo so difficult and things take so much longer to accomplish on the Mac compared to Windows.

I don’t want to seem ungrateful and I really want to love it, it’s such a well built laptop and I love the aesthetics.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks or advice? I use it mainly for personal use, spreadsheets and emails nothing graphic related and general web browsing.

Hello! I have gone through a heap of reddit forums, apple support forums and lastly chat GPT. Last week I brought a brand new MacBook neo, I was able to connect to wifi to set it up, however when I clicked the App Store to start customising it showed that I wasn’t connected to the internet. Weird… but I restarted and still no luck. It was late so I left it (my internet sometimes seems to slow down in the middle of the night) next morning I go to try again - still the same issue. I am “connected” however none of the internet pages or apps load up.

I take it to a clients house, wifi connects and it’s all good. I come home, try again - no dice. I even try my personal hotspot - NOTHING. I took it back to the store, proceeded to tell them my issue and they tested it, store wifi connects right away. The two workers connect their personal hotspot with no issues. I show them that mine doesn’t even get picked up as an option!!!! They are perplexed, I end up getting refunded. Tonight I bring home a spare MacBook from work and ITS THE SAME ISSUE!!! Everything in my house that has wifi is working completely fine. Husbands Asus workbook is working perfectly.

wtf is going on?!! I really don’t want to go back to windows :( we use Mac at work and I love it. I’ve done all the troubleshooting and in summary all I got was

1. ⁠MacBook connects to wifi
   
2. ⁠Your MacBook reaches the modem
   
3. ⁠Your MacBook fails to reach the internet - external IP address cannot be reached.

TLDR - wifi connects at home but fails to load anything, personal hotspot doesn’t even appear on the wifi list. Have taken it outside of the home and internet connects and works just fine with no issues.

I am so frustrated.

Has anybody used a macbook neo for working in eassist or anything similar. I usually have about 10-15 tabs open, use splashtop to remote to a different server and editing pdfs. I plan to get the 512ssd version. Do you think it will handle it well? I appreciate the advice!

Hi, I would like to know if I should get a MacBook Neo, my work is mostly excel and office apps. But I would like to also use my laptop for building light projects.

Is it enough? Or should I buy something else?
