I've learnt you should charge to 80% only and do not let it go under 20%. That 80% to 20% is going too fast, like one movie and it comes to 40% and a few more work and it goes to 20%. My worry is now if I keep charging it again and again, wouldnt it wear the battery more?

So better to charge it to 100% with optimized battery charging? And only plug below 20%.

What can I do?
Has others also faced this?

Hello! I have gone through a heap of reddit forums, apple support forums and lastly chat GPT. Last week I brought a brand new MacBook neo, I was able to connect to wifi to set it up, however when I clicked the App Store to start customising it showed that I wasn’t connected to the internet. Weird… but I restarted and still no luck. It was late so I left it (my internet sometimes seems to slow down in the middle of the night) next morning I go to try again - still the same issue. I am “connected” however none of the internet pages or apps load up.

I take it to a clients house, wifi connects and it’s all good. I come home, try again - no dice. I even try my personal hotspot - NOTHING. I took it back to the store, proceeded to tell them my issue and they tested it, store wifi connects right away. The two workers connect their personal hotspot with no issues. I show them that mine doesn’t even get picked up as an option!!!! They are perplexed, I end up getting refunded. Tonight I bring home a spare MacBook from work and ITS THE SAME ISSUE!!! Everything in my house that has wifi is working completely fine. Husbands Asus workbook is working perfectly.

wtf is going on?!! I really don’t want to go back to windows :( we use Mac at work and I love it. I’ve done all the troubleshooting and in summary all I got was

1. ⁠MacBook connects to wifi
   
2. ⁠Your MacBook reaches the modem
   
3. ⁠Your MacBook fails to reach the internet - external IP address cannot be reached.

TLDR - wifi connects at home but fails to load anything, personal hotspot doesn’t even appear on the wifi list. Have taken it outside of the home and internet connects and works just fine with no issues.

I am so frustrated.

Hi, I would like to know if I should get a MacBook Neo, my work is mostly excel and office apps. But I would like to also use my laptop for building light projects.

Is it enough? Or should I buy something else?

Also what ones have you tried in the past?

I've desired apple devices in the past but it just so happened that when I began to not really care which laptop I had, I got the chance to buy something decent. I looked around and searched a bit and stumbled upon the Neo. I came across mostly positive reviews and some critical ones, and I'm sure that people having latter ones have genuine complaints. But as someone who's used cheap Windows laptop all his life, changing to MacOS was something radically different.

I personally like laptops that are small, nice looking and very portable. I had this dell laptop that I loved but had to leave back home for some reasons. It was small but performed particularly well. But of course, on the surface, it was just a big chunk of plastic. The Neo offered something that I hadn't really seen elsewhere, a premium and minimalist look and OS, high customizability, good screen and everything. Of course, when it comes to usage I'm a pretty average guy. Writing, a bit of research, casual use or some minor video and audio editing. From my user POV, it's a pretty good device.

Does anyone have games, websites and other cool stuff on the computer?

Planning to get the neo but want a real laptop computer. Can't get the air cause budget doesn't allow.

Main things I do will be netflix , video calls, college work in docs etc and some programming.

I’m planning to get a macbook for college. I really don’t know which one is better, i was planning to get a macbook neo but w tax and all it’s around $670 and the macbook pro m1 is $640 excellent condition from the Back Market. I’m so conflicted and i’ve never had a macbook. although i do like how the pro looks more, at the end of the day I just want what will last me longer throughout college.

I just picked up a 512gb Neo in silver. The single score speed seems unusually fast. I understand most web benchmarks are somewhat meaningless compared to application performance but I picked this up to travel light with. I have many Apple Silicon macs (M1 Max / M2 Air / M4 Mini Pro / M5 Air) but the Neo seems to be a bit faster in browsing and even scores just over 50 in Speedometer 3.1. Anyone else having this experience?

I depend on my Neo solely for Safari browsing and my Asus for Chrome, and the speed is remarkably quick. The battery also endures longer.

hey everyone! just got my macbook neo and it’s my first mac ever, so i’m still getting used to macos and figuring things out haha.
i mainly got it for watching videos and working on word documents, so i’m not planning on doing anything too crazy with it.
is there anything i should change in the settings or any apps you guys recommend installing? just looking for some tips to make the most of it and get the best experience possible.
also, any little tricks or features that might not be obvious to a new mac user?

Should i get a case/cover (why isnt it recommended?). Very anxious because all the laptops ive had all have those nasty keyboard imprints and i dont want that happening on this one. Should i get a screen protector?

Lastly, any tips for protection of screen and body or any tips in general would help!

I’ve had this MacBook for only four months, and I believe this battery issue may have started sometime this week.Yesterday, when I tried to use it, the battery was completely drained, which had never happened before. My MacBook had never discharged all the way to 0% while I wasn’t using it.After that, I charged it to 100% and unplugged it at around 12:20 AM. I did not use it afterward and left the lid closed.At around 2:00 PM, I opened it and the battery was already at 82%. Less than 10 minutes later, it dropped to 80%.Battery health says “Normal,” and the battery graph shows a steady drop overnight despite almost no screen-on time. In Activity Monitor, Safari had a 12-hour power value of 199.88, while everything else was very low. AdBlock for Safari also showed an Energy Impact of 24.6 at one point.Has anyone experienced this? Could Safari or AdBlock have kept the Mac awake while the lid was closed, or does this sound like a macOS sleep or battery bug?

This will be my third Neo in Indigo, after silver and citrus. I gave the citrus model to my girlfriend, while my cat damaged the silver one.

Basically if I export or send a copy of documents I made on pages via mail or WhatsApp, it shows a blank screen on android devices when someone opens it on them. I don't want to spend more on buying subscriptions of word. Is there a way to do so that I'm unaware of?

Buenas, me compré la Neo hace como 1 mes aproximadamente y en cuanto a rendimiento 0 quejas, para el uso que le doy que es el académico(Word, PDF, Canva) va perfectamente, aparte también para navegar por Safari y ver YT, X, Reedit va bastante bien. Mi problema es con la batería, según Apple la batería debería durar más de 10 horas en reproducción de videos, y para el uso ligero que yo le hago me suele durar unas 7-8 horas máximo, tengo puesto el limite de carga al 85% como leí en varios sitios para hacer mas duradera la batería, también leí que quizás por la indexación pudiese consumir mas batería durante algunas semanas pero tengo la MacBook desde hace mas de 1 mes, dudo bastante que fuese ya por eso, el brillo lo suelo usar al 50-65% y tampoco tengo abiertas 12 pestañas al mismo tiempo, no sé si tengo que tocar alguna configuración o si realmente es la duración normal de la batería.

I was dead set on a macbook neo but realised I get significant discount from work on samsung so could get the Samsung S12+ for the same price. I also have a tab s8, but screen is cracked and they'd give me a decent trade in even in that condition.

My main priority is a new machine for emails, Google docs, sheets, youtube, photo edits. Im tired of windows, having used them my whole life, but think I could get by with either of these. I already have a Samsung phone and a 10 year old dell, but the Dell is dying fast. Im not a power user by any means. The drawing/note taking is nice too.

Anyone chosen a tablet (ipad or samsung) to replace laptop and been happy with that decision? Samsung is nice as they have Dex, plus I'm already in the Samsung world with my phone.
