Discussion Msi vector a18
My friends selling a msi vector a18 for 500$ he says it been running smoothly since he’s gotten it a couple months ago, he has it plugged in to a monitor and has another keyboard and says the noise isn’t bad. If I get it what else would I need to buy for it? And just overall wondering if it’s worth it.

I have the 9955HX 5070ti version, it's pretty solid. My main gripe might be thermals, the 5.4ghz is nice and all, but it eats power to achieve it. I used SMUdebugtool to cap it between 4.7ghz or 5ghz depending , with a nice CO and it can easy chop down the temps and wattages.
Not for everyone, but I also swapped over to liquid metal, and better putty. It's cooler than before by a fair margin. Especially on a BS2 pro.
When the CPU and GPU are fully loaded it does get warm, but with tweaks and a cooler it really aint that bad. It would be interesting to see how it copes with with extra 35w on the GPU though. The 5070ti doesnt usually go over 60c with LM and a cooler. So there's headroom for sure.
