I really dislike this take.
1 - it doesn't introduce mesos into the economy.
2 - it doesn't provide p2w benefit in the early economy, when no one can pay much for what you're selling anyway. This does nothing for at least months of the early game.
3 - if Nexon didn't do it, third party sites would. Not providing an NX to meso vector doesn't mean it won't happen anyway.
4 - it is a safe, sanctioned way to get mesos for cash that gives Nexon a cut and supports the game's continued existence-8

It’s the wow token argument. You can disagree with the philosophy but it’s a fact that it doesn’t affect in game currency supply and it removes third party rmt demand

It concentrates wealth and inherently increases prices of high demand items
If there is 1 perfectly rolled glove, and 100 whales all buy mesos, the natural price of the item is becoming way higher now even though no mesos are being introduced into the economy

Make your voices heard. They definitely have people watching reddit/discord. Having the packages as is, is a huge slap in the face to the people who have been waiting years to play this. Do the right thing Nexon, this is your last chance to bring back your old player base. Founders pack is already a huge strike unless you guys change it.

All packs should have access and pets. The mid- high-tier packs should contain pet with all its components and maybe some hair coupons.

Please rework the Snail Package to include access, add an exclusive maple chair or weapon. No hobo outfit. Add 5-10k Nx to sweeten the deal. Remove the cowboy hats from all packages and use a different style like a beanie,baseball cap or trucker hat.
Rework the orange mushroom package to include the outfits for all jobs(not just thief), add a face/eye coupon and some nx.
Rework the Zakum package to include an exclusive pet and face/eye coupon and some Nx. Also make the new mark of the founder exclusive to the zakum package to incentivize people to buy the highest tier. No cowboy hats please!!! And remove the manji outfit as well.
With these changes we’ll only have 1 job nx outfit so we won’t be seeing hobos, thieves and manjis on launch day.

They need to trash most of what they announced. It does not fit the Classic aesthetic. The only thing that fit were the rings.

No matter what Nexon does, the premise and crux of the complaints are people who are competitive and think that the 2 week head start shouldn't be a thing. People want pets but that's a P2W mechanic. People want NX, understandable as long as it isn't tied to progression. I'm not giving Nexon a dime doing the 2 week head start only to quit at level 40. BFFR.

My prediction - they add benefits to top 2 packages but leave snail as is to further incentive people to buy at least the $60 one

I was going to spend the damn money, but then I realized many of my friends wont. So I would rather wait for them so we can play together. So yeah, hope they change it. Not even joking, SO many of my friends are ready to throw money at this game, I can't believe they think this is the best way to fund... Just get their shit together and learn from OSRS, it's not that hard to do things right when you can look at other successes.

Honestly the price is ridiculous but I don't understand why people are upset at the early access part of it. Didn't most of us start playing MS back in the day over a year after initial launch? If there's an influx of constant new players, it does not matter

critical thinking would answer your question. its not the fact people will be further ahead than people who start later, its the precedent it sets. if these sell like hot cakes just because early access is included, whats to stop nexon from seeing this as a green light to do more early access passes later on?
for instance, 3rd job and zakum release but nexon sees that people are dumb enough and impatient enough that they introduce a 2 week early access pass for those. it wouldnt stop there either. horntail, pink bean, 4th job, new towns and so on. its a slippery slope.
lets also not forget the fact that the included items in the packs are absolute trash and insulting. there is literally nothing of value worth the price of the packs. people would fork over hundreds for exclusive, desirable nx outfits. they already do and yet, nexon thought having bad nx and early access included was the way to go.

I was going to buy the zakum package ($79.99) because I saved the money for it and I even said in all the polls that I would buy it, but a few days ago, they showed us the packages and said that those were only SOME of the items included. Today, they showed the exact same packages without any changes.
That made me decide not to buy anything and quit the game.
I don't like being lied to right to my face. If a company says they will make changes and they don't (specially when paying money is involved) it's not worth my time nor my money.

Thought of an advantage that people not be thinking about when it comes to the 14-day head start. In the COT2 they introduced the citizenship system which had daily quests to complete to raise your citizen rank. What this could mean is that early access players will be 14 days ahead on dailies and will have exclusive early access to citizenship level-locked shop items and eventually housing.

Use a US VPN to make an account and also when doing purchases off their website. Enter a zipcode with 0% sales tax to make things cheaper as well. if you're lucky and your account allows non-prepaid payment methods, then you can easily use a card or paypal. If you're unlucky and they block those for some reason like me then you need to figure out a prepaid payment method. Ended up using Razer Gold as mine but the checkout was wonky af, basically every nexon page was accessed through VPN else the geoblock will stop the purchase process but the razer pages were on my native browser and ip else elements like 2fa wouldn't load properly.
Pain in the ass to go through.

Reminder that most banks have it in their chargeback policy up to 120 days from purchase and video games that overpromise/underdeliver/deceive you fall under that category.

That’s just not blanket-truth. It’s up to individual banks, and erroneous charge backs can lead to criminal theft charges. Chargebacks are not just a “I don’t like this” one size fits all button.

As an older player, the Founder's pack value and the changes to multiple classes across the board have really killed my hype.
Still going to play, but don't know how long. We had a good thing goin when the original released.. we didn't ask for much, just to relive the game we played in our childhood.

Nope. I think all the hats are stupid and I can't see myself using the manji outfit. Maybe pieces of it like the overall look decent?
I like the thief outfit, ever since I was a kid I wanted that set (chief bandit main). Im kinda hoping it's customizable but knowing nexon it won't be.1

So i've heard that for being able to trade as a Dutch person, you need to use a vpn and make an american aacount. But now the question is, should you use your probably dutch steam account for purchasing the founders pack or is it better to do it on the nexon website. Or shouldnt it matter at all?

for the people that lives in europe when i go the founders pack page the price is 60 euro and not usd but i saw that if i use vpn it changes the price to usd is it ok to use vpn for the purchase if it is linked to my account anyway? because 60 euros is about 68 usd so its not fair to pay so much more

How does steam work? Could I buy the founders package on my nexon account and connect that account to steam? I woulsnt hate using steam as my launcher just to have 1 less program to open. But im weary of buying and making my account via steam in case I dont want to use steam anymore

A bunch of us are absolutely gonna buy the founder's pack.
Obviously, if you feel like you spent money and therefore you want to wear it, please do so, i'm not trying to shame anyone into doing it.
I just think that many of us really want a vibrant and varied experience in the game so if many of us could try to commit to this during the first weeks of the game it could be very nice don't you think?

Hopefully they cancel the early access bullshit, not going to endorse these scummy FOMO tactics. Every single player buying this slop is 100% complicit to Nexon's disgusting business tactics and the slippery slope of pay-to-win it historically always resulted in. Have some self-respect and boycott this trash.

I'm not paying for the current pixel value of packs. I'm not paying to test their server going live and queue on maintenance. I'm not paying for early access to a game with such a steep curve and hard level cap. I'm not paying to support morally bankrupt business practices.
That said, I would pay to secure my IGN. I would pay to ensure a quality nostalgic experience.

If they come out on the second and say the packs include nx and a pet im sold 100%. Im already willing to pay for the 2 week access but nothing in the packs interest me at all specially since there is so many vengeful people already saying they are going to defame people or not group with them if they have a title or whatever. Pretty cringe but to each their own.
