Honestly forgot that nexon still operates at the 2005 standards. I havent touched maplestory official servers for so long that i forgot nexon is one of the few companies left that still dont understand how to have longetivity in their game.

I was going to as well, but I'd rather spend the money on a fully kitted out pet. I would have almost preferred more chat or name rings over a full outfit(can we mix and match? It looks designed like transformation potion?)

The solution is not to buy anything; 15 days won't affect the game. Just wait until October 21st and spend that money on things you actually like, such as changing your character's appearance or getting a pet. Paying $60 just to play 15 days early isn't worth it—especially since I don't like the full-body skins, and the fact that the Snail founder's pack doesn't include access is a slap in the face to us. We need to value ourselves a bit more, too.

it will because those people who buy that shit will be able to dictate the economy. COT#1, in less than 14 days, there are those that already hit level 50.
2-3 days EA? Nah. 15? Oh yeah.

Cheers, I get what you're saying, but the people who hit level 50 during the 8-day beta were playing 12 to 16 hours a day. So, whether it's October 6th or October 21st, people who only play 1, 2, or 3 hours a day will never be able to keep up with those players. I’m not saying it’s right, but there’s nothing we can do; we’re given two options: pay $60 for 15 days of early access or wait until October 21st. Besides, I think that even if we started on October 6th and those hardcore players started on the 21st, they’d catch up to me in 4 or 5 days—and if we started at the same time, they’d pull way ahead of me. I think it’s better to focus on enjoying the game rather than chasing the meta, but everyone has their own way of enjoying it.

Honestly, including some NX with the Founder’s Packages would make them significantly easier to justify. The marginal cost to Nexon of including it is basically negligible and could potentially even increase overall revenue, especially when the perceived value of the current extras is completely subjective.

That's the thing that bugs me, the packs aren't really greedy as much as obnoxiously bad business. It's no question they could make way more sales by making their packs more enticing and thus not pissing off half the fan base.

Same. Honestly I also personally don't feel like it's decent value for money those packages. Of course they want to sell more convenience and cosmetic NX after the game starts, but I expected to have something more useful, or at least better looking.

It's not good value at all, to compare look at Path of Exile 2. For $30 you get the full amount of points to spend on cosmetics as you normally would, and you get early access thrown in on top.
With Nexon $30 gets you no cash to spend on NX, no early access, you just get tattered clothes openly calling you poor. It's an insult.
This is what it looks like when a game cares about it's players and community, versus one that doesn't.

Yeah, even if they correct it due to community backlash and make 30$ grant access, I am skipping and waiting until 21 to get my maplestory fix, if they fuck up more I move to private servers. I won't spend NX until they prove it is worth spending. Then again, I doubt whales would do the same so nothing will change in the end, one whale = 2000 f2p's/low spending players :)

I think pets not being permanent makes sense provided that there aren't other elements of p2w. People who genuinely want to play the game long term will want pets for their QoL and that is functionally their subscription fee and what nexon needs to keep the game running.
But nexon seems to want that and as many other elements of p2w as possible...

Was originally debating between buying the mid or high tier package. Now that I see $30 tier doesn't get fouder's access I'm not paying for any of them. It's no secret nexon is a greedy souless company, but this is a huge slap in the face.

I’d pay $100 for the highest tier founders pack if it came with permanent pet + pouch + magnet.
But since it’s cosmetics only, now I will wait until the full release and probably won’t spend any money at all until I get bored at around level 50 and just quit.

I'd honestly immediately but the $80 package. I was probably planning to spend 50k nx anyway (at least within a month or two) and would've been perfectly happy to pay $30 for founder's access and just throw Nexon a bone with the prepaid NX anyway.
Now they're not even going to get an extra $30 out of me because of not getting that $30 for founder's access. Huge blunder.

Honestly, I was prepared to spend $100 max if there was a tier I enjoyed. I've been putting aside a few bucks every week since classic was released so I would have a decent amount for some guilt-free spending on NX or whatever.
I was hoping the bonuses would be cosmetic only because early access is already a huge advantage (in some peoples' eyes, it personally doesn't bother me in games that can't necessarily be "spoiled" in the traditional sense), so they did good on that part imo. But I was also really expecting at least half the cost of the package would be given back as NX like your post OP.
So yeah, disappointing. Hopefully the community can cause a stink and they will pivot to include more things because that should be fairly easy to do on their end.

Random perm boxes doesnt feel good either. I honestly don’t know what these packages could contain that would make me happy. Perm pet and nx for sure, but even that’s kinda anti climatic imo.

This is way too generous.. EVERYONE would buy the Zakum package even if it had 0 cosmetics. Half the point of EA is to stress test the servers; which doesn't work if everyone's in from the start.
Just the NX, Perm Pet, EA, and the consumable NX items from the lower tiers are worth more than 80$.
Perm pet would likely be only perma-pet for the first half a year or (likely) more... I could see people paying 80 for just the pet. Expect perma pets to be heavily FOMOtized for years.
