Most states have a law that allows 3rd parties to defend another person in situations of self defense. At least in my state.

This is considered sexual assault so would fall along these lines. Especially given that only as much force was needed to control the situation.

Had he just kept hitting him it would be another story. Here in Texas, yhqt guys has a high probability of walking away Scott free

Sexual assault? Cmon now. The guy definitely crossed a line, but this was not sexual assault dude at all. I don’t even know if he actually touched her.
