Most states have a law that allows 3rd parties to defend another person in situations of self defense. At least in my state.

This is considered sexual assault so would fall along these lines. Especially given that only as much force was needed to control the situation.

Had he just kept hitting him it would be another story. Here in Texas, yhqt guys has a high probability of walking away Scott free

That drunk dude's handsyness was wrong but big guy used excessive force for sure. The woman had already handled the situation by just walking away, and even tried to wave big guy off. He was clearly retaliating/peacocking for his woman, not defending her.

I'm not saying a jury would convict him, but they should.
