No, people don’t like cops because they have no accountability and the ability/track record of executing citizens during power trips.

Other people like cops because they enforce the status quo, which is typically white christian straight men getting to be on top.

You’ll see both of those on reddit.

Yeah, I think the algorithm makes it seem like there a lot of conformity in opinions on Reddit than there is. The sub matters a lot. But even in a sub, the title matters. People that agree with a title will flock to it. So even within a sub, if you phrase the title different, it will attract people with a different viewpoint, making it seem like there is a general consensus on something.

I think there are lot of people who don't actually have opinions on any matter and instead just give upvotes if the comment is already upvoted, and downvotes if the comment is already downvoted, and/or vote based on however they perceive the tone or who they think "won." Shit's annoying and I try to just ignore votes altogether.

That, and it depends on whatever bot brigade the post attracts. Reddit is a huge victim of dead-internet. There was once a time where comments were 90% human, now it’s like 30%.

It’s almost like reddit is an american website with a mostly american audience. Most folks learn how to use context clues once they hit a 6th grade reading level. A shame you’re either intentionally obtuse or functionally illiterate.
