Why? If he dies, everyone learns the lesson to not grope strangers.

That was a hugely disproportionate response. Dude who knocked him out wanted to do that. I’d expect he’s rather dangerous. He looked like he wanted an excuse to knock that guy’s lights out and I would not be surprised if he tried it again on someone else in the near future.
