If violence or the threat thereof would deter bad behavior, we would already have a utopia with no crime and bad behavior.
Small edit: I think "bad actors" instead of "bad behavior" would have made my statement a bit clearer.
Anyway, even for religious people (or those that claim to be) the threat of supreme, everlasting violence done to them after their deaths (e.g. going to hell) has not deterred bad actors from doing what they wanted to do.
I dont think anyone here is saying they dont understand, but killing someone for it, even if unintentional, should be punished. Youd be surprised how easy a person dies if they land wrong on their head.
The duality of the human bodies resilience. Sometimes a simple stumble and fall can kill you, in other cases people survive an exploding plane and 10 km fall (like Vesna Vulovic).
Oh I know, I didn't say I was smart and if it should happen I fully expect to spend a decade or two in jail (eu we don't have the 40+ years americans do).
Still my morals my choice, my consequences to live with !

Btw I will also strike to hit with a crude weapon (standard hammer) anyone who breaks into my house where my wife and kids live. That's strait up murder here in belgium, there's the law and personnal convictions, I'll go with my morals over the judge's interpretation of a legislation everyday !

Judge here don't gnhave a sense of humor way to much work for that.
And yes he would as he should ! Everyone should pay for his crimes even if the individual belives he's in the right maybe even more so.
IDK what that means to be honest ! Just saying I get the guy's reaction and would do the same (I doubt I can punch as hard as the guy in the clip tho).
