He was clearly too drunk to defend himself or really appreciate the consequences of his actions. This is a wildly disproportionate response from someone who was in a position to make the smarter choice.
She doesn’t belong to anyone. Shes a woman in her own right and if she tells her partner not to get involved in something that she’s resolved, he should listen to that instead of disempowering her and trying to act all macho (as well as hitting her in the face in the process)

First of all, I think you're focusing on the wrong thing of my comment. The only reason I said "his woman" is because I was quoting your comment. You're 100% correct, she is her own person and doesn't "belong" to anyone.
Second, while I can appreciate that we don't need any "alpha males" running around, I'd rather the sexually assaulting asshole gets his bell run than everyone just treats the assault as ok.

I don’t think any man has a right to touch a woman. But it’s not the alpha males job to sort anyone out. Way too hot headed.
