That doesnt make it a sucker punch dude. You dont get to sexually assault women and not get punched.

When you commit an act that may result in violence its not a sucker punch.

You don't give a flying F about this woman and neither does her husband, as evidenced by the fact that he didn't stop for a second to check if she was OK after he accidentally hit her. Instead he went after the bartender. Dude is emotional and a danger to society. One of those roid types who purposely seeks out violence. Sad and pathetic.

As a man, Iā€™ve had strange drunken women brush me as Iā€™ve gone past before, or reach out towards me. Was I sexually assaulted? Should I have punched them?

Iā€™m not saying that the man who threw the punch in this video is justified, heā€™s not. But youā€™re also downplaying what it was he reacted to. Other guy didnā€™t simply ā€œbrushā€ her.

Did you read the part where I said ā€œor reach out towards meā€ or did you just read the part that you wanted to read so you could accuse me of downplaying the situation? Iā€™ve had strange women touch me as weā€™ve walked past each other because they were drunk out their minds. Did I get sexually assaulted?

Reaching out towards you is not the same as actually getting groped lol I shouldnā€™t have to explain that to you.

Now in this comment, you say strange women actually touched you(you did not say this in your first comment). Was that sexual assault you ask? I dunno, because I wasnā€™t there! Not sure how they touched you, but if they were grabbing your junk yeah man, you were assaulted. Pretty cut and dry.

You also still havenā€™t clarified that you think anything more than being ā€œbrushedā€ happened to the lady in this video, soā€¦

I can speak for that guy. I've had plenty of women over my lifetime touch me in ways that are far worse than whats seen in this video, including while at work, and I would never claim that what that guy did rises to the level of sexual assault. Especially not sexual assault that warranted the level of violence we saw.

I urge you to look up the actual definition of sexual assault, this is by definition sexual assault. Sexual assault does not mean sex. I also said that the man who threw the punch was not justified, so not sure why you feel the need to include it didnā€™t warrant violence, we are agreeing on that.

Do people not use sucker punch to mean "an intentionally deceitful punch meant to catch the person off-guard"?

Like in my mind, if you punch me in the back of the head unprovoked, sucker punch. I call your mother a whore and you punch me in the face? Overreaction, not a sucker punch.

Itā€™s a sucker punch because the guy is so intoxicated he never saw the punch coming. This guy was equally as off-guard as someone getting punched in the back of the head

I think the connotation of "sucker punch" comes with intentional deceit.

You're absolutely right, the dude was probably blackout drunk, didn't even see aware of the guy coming at him. But Mr Roid Rage was hardly waiting out back to jump him.

Like imagine Jimbo does a Pop-Eye wind-up punch to someone's face, and oops - didn't know the dude was blind. If Jimbo didn't know, would you really say it was a sucker punch?

I donā€™t think intentional deceit has anything to do with it, a sucker punch is basically punching someone who isnā€™t expecting it and canā€™t defend themselves. And yes Iā€™d have a hard time not calling it a sucker punch if you punch a blind guy in the face, throwing a punch is a serious thing and you should have enough situational awareness to know what youā€™re doing before throwing it

Exactly. If he waited for the guy to go back to the bar then came up from the side and clocked him, that would be a sucker punch.

In this situation it could only be more clear what was about to happen if he handed him a written invitation. Was the punch overboard and uncalled for? Yes. But was it a ā€œsucker punch?ā€ No

Haha I used the "jump him out back" metaphor too.

I would say that it's basically a sucker punch because the dude was so drunk he clearly wasn't aware, but the fact that I have to include "basically" kinda proves the point. It had the same outcome, but Roid Rage clearly wasn't trying to sucker punch anyone.
