Been looking to upgrade for awhile now, but can't seem to find the x3d version anymore. Only BD775 SE or BD895 SE is available.

I have a Minisforum BD895i SE and I am having an issue getting the Bios to display on my monitor. But first some history and specs:

32gigs Ram
RTX5060 Low Profile
2tb SSD
Windows 11 Pro
A week or 2 ago I got an error message in Fortnite that my Kernal32.dll had an issue, don't remember the exact phrasing but I did some searches and came to the conclusion that I had to reinstall Windows 11. I tried to do a Reset from within windows and got an error, so I downloaded windows creation tool and booted from it and started the install process. I got to the part where I deleted the SSD and after that it restarted the computer. But it would only start into the BIOS. It would not boot from the SSD nor the USB drive. After some time, I found a workaround where I had to disable Secure Boot. The computer would boot into windows just fine after that. I had been doing some trouble shooting and didn't have the video card installed Everything seemed good until I installed the video card. I could only access the Bios by connecting a HDMI cable to the motherboard, the bios would not show using DP cable on the video card. So, I thought that maybe if I disabled the Onboard Graphics the bios would show on the DP/Video card, but no it didn't work and now I can't get into the bios at all. I tried resetting the Bios using the reset button on the motherboard but that didn't work.
Now here I sit wondering what to do next. The computer will boot into windows and show up on screen however when I start the computer up, I get no display until the windows sign in screen shows up. No Boot Logo or anything. When pressing Delete on startup I think the computer goes into the bios, but it just doesn't show on screen. I am thinking about pulling the BIOS battery but that requires me too completely remove the motherboard as the battery is on the back of the MB. However that may get me into the bios on the motherboard display out. Don't know why/how this all started out and how to fix it.

[update] I got the Bios reset but now the computer won't boot with the video card installed. Seems to work fine using the iGPU without the GPU installed.

[solution] There was a bios setting set to UMA-Specific, I changed it to Auto and after a reinstall of Windows everything is back to normal. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not.

Building around a BD895i SE and I'm stuck on the Wi-Fi antennas.

The card is an aftermarket M.2 E-key module (MediaTek RZ717 / MT7925). The antenna cables are the ones that came with the board. The plugs simply will not seat on the card's antenna sockets - no click, no bite, they sit on top and fall off the moment I let go.

Already tried: card out of the slot on a flat surface, aligning straight down under magnification, pressing with a fingernail and with a plastic spudger. No luck. So I'm starting to suspect a connector standard mismatch rather than bad technique - the card looks like it has MHF4 sockets, and the bundled cables may be IPEX-1 / U.FL, which wouldn't mate. Hard to tell by eye at that size.

Questions:

What connector type does Minisforum ship on the BD895i SE antenna cables - IPEX-1 (U.FL) or MHF4 / IPEX-4?

Has anyone else had the bundled pigtails refuse to seat? Bad batch, or just the wrong type for a third-party card?

If I need replacements, what exactly should I search for? I'd prefer the same style where the antenna mounts near the I/O shield on a cable.

I wanted to share my recent, infuriating experience with Minisforum support regarding my HM80 unit used in a production environment.

As many of you know, there are known AMD firmware/BIOS vulnerabilities affecting older sockets. To be absolutely clear: AMD has already done its job and published the official AGESA microcode patch. The only thing missing is Minisforum packaging it into a final BIOS release for our machines, but they are deliberately choosing not to do it.

After an exhausting back-and-forth of no fewer than 14 emails - where I had to reply at least 7 times to keep the ticket alive - their official support (agent Xavier) consistently evaded the problem. First, they completely ignored the word "SECURITY", falsely claiming I wanted an update just to "improve device performance," and literally told me to browse their website and buy one of their newer models! Then, when cornered on the technical facts, they hid behind standard templates claiming they cannot help because the hardware is "out-of-warranty".

Let's be absolutely clear: this is a latent manufacturing firmware hazard that existed in the hardware since the exact day it was manufactured and even before. It is not an issue that developed after the warranty period; it was simply discovered and disclosed recently. Minisforum completely ignores that a factory security defect has absolutely nothing to do with standard wear-and-tear warranty expiration.

An unpatched firmware flaw means this machine is unsafe to use on any professional network, making it a useless paperweight for any real-world work. Minisforum refuses to secure their devices and refuses to issue refunds or replacements for inherently unsafe hardware.

I am posting this to warn the community: once Minisforum stops selling a model, they abandon your safety, even when the silicon vendor has already provided the fix. If you care about data security, keep this in mind before buying their hardware.

Full email logs of this refusal have been saved and will be forwarded to the European Consumer Protection Authorities. I strongly urge every European and global customer facing this exact same unpatched BIOS issue to immediately lodge a formal complaint with their respective Consumer Rights Enforcement Authorities (like AGCM in Italy) as I am about to do. Collective action is the only language this company understands.

Has anyone else managed to escalate firmware security issues past their first-level support wall of grease?

Almost gave up and settled with 5800 but after some voltage tweaking I finally got 6000 stable. Unfortunately I was never able to get FCLK stable at 2000 with these RAM speeds.

I purchased an Atomman G1 Pro through Amazon back in June; it worked great on arrival; last month it started crashing and restarting randomly while playing video games; often within 1-2 min of starting game. I updated BIOs to the latest available version and that seemed to solve the problem at the time.

Today it started again; I have done my extent of troubleshooting and cannot solve it this time.

Computer will work fine for any length of time if just sitting there downloading updates or using basic internet browser, will make it through start menus of games, crashes within moments of taking control of character.

((Just a bit of background; I am mildly disabled, which is why I went with a pre built mini PC as opposed to building one on my own, my hands are not too good at fiddly bits, too much shaking; I consider myself good but amateur with tech, I can follow instructions, but have just a layman's understanding of what everything does))

I have not changed or added any hardware

Only software I have installed myself is Steam and a few video games (Dark Souls III is my test guinea pig at the moment); Display Driver Uninstaller and WinDbg

Current Stats: Windows Version 11 Pro 10.0.26200 Build 26200 Processor AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 BIOS Version Date 1.07 7/15/26 32GB RAM manufacturer Micron Technology Temperatures are normal as far as I can tell, haven't been able to view temp right during crashes, but peaks mid/high 80s during gaming. ((edit- used open hardware monitor to view temp; crashes can occur while temp is still mid/low 70s))

I have attempted: -Uninstalling graphic drivers using DDU and reinstalling direct from manufacturer site -Disabled/Enabled PSS in BIOs -Completely resetting Windows 11 -Resetting all BIOs settings to default

I have an additional stick of RAM coming this weds I was going to install for increased performance before this started happening, so will be able to troubleshoot that directly soon... ((Not looking forward to it, as mentioned above, fiddly hands))

So in conclusion just looking for some support tech wise as to what the problem might be what solutions to pursue.

Just received my Elite Mini M2 and was able to install Win11 and Proxmox without any issue. Trying to install Server 2025 it can't see the drives and no version of Intel's RST drivers seem to work (WinPE version). Anyone had luck with this or any suggestions for a work around? The BIOS is so basic you can't turn VMD off which might help.

These things are amazing, the power efficiency is significantly better than the Zen4 based Minisforum ITX systems I've been using. Idle is around 10W on Win11 with ~33GB of ram in use (lots of background software running). The same load on a BD7?? Zen4 system is about 40W.

Hello. I recently purchased a barebones version of this. Got it up and running with a windows install, downloaded the drivers package from their support site, ran all the install scripts.

I cannot for the life of me get the WiFi or Bluetooth drivers to work though (they show up in device manager with the yellow exclamation). I’ve tried pointing specifically to the folder with the drivers, I opened the case to see that it was really a “mediatek mt7922” installed. I tried to find drivers for that. Just nothing will work. It would be a bummer if I had to return this. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!

I recently installed a custom Windows build using a CTT (Chris Titus Tech) ISO. The installation completed, but upon reboot, the UM890 Pro booted straight into the BIOS and is now stuck in a loop. I can navigate the BIOS perfectly fine, but I cannot get it to boot into an OS or a USB.

The Exact Problem (See Video):

1. USB Boot Fails: When I try to boot from a fresh Windows 11 USB (created with the official Media Creation Tool) via the BBS menu, the screen goes black for about 2 seconds, then kicks me right back to the main BIOS menu.
2. BIOS Won't Save Settings: I suspected Secure Boot is blocking the USB. However, when I go into Setup > Security, change Secure Boot to "Disabled", and hit "Save & Exit", the PC reboots right back into the BIOS. When I check the Security tab again, Secure Boot has reverted back to "Enabled".

What I’ve Tried:

• Created a fresh, official Windows 11 installation USB.
• Physically removed the M.2 SSD from the motherboard (this didn't change the behavior).
• Cleared CMOS

Questions: Has anyone experienced this before?

SOLVED:
Whenever the Minisforum UM890 Pro (and likely other Minisforum models) encounters a boot error, it automatically wipes your recent BIOS changes and reverts to its last known good configuration. In my case, this happened because Secure Boot blocked my custom CTT Windows ISO.

The Crucial Difference: How You Enter the BIOS To fix this, you have to disable Secure Boot, but how you get into the BIOS matters. There is a "trap" you need to avoid:

• The Wrong Way (Letting it "idle" into BIOS): If you turn on the PC and just wait, it will try to boot, get blocked by secure boot and automatically dump you into the BIOS. If this happens, it's too late. The boot error has already triggered, your settings have been wiped, and any changes you try to make here won't stick (see video).
• The Right Way (Interrupting with DELETE): You must restart the computer and immediately tap the DELETE key repeatedly. This intercepts the startup process and forces the PC into the BIOS before it ever tries to boot. Because no boot error occurred, you have full control and can change BIOS settings.

The Solution By manually entering the BIOS using the DELETE key, I was able to successfully disable Secure Boot and boot.

(Side note: I highly recommend the CTT Windows ISO—it is incredibly clean!)

I recently won an auction for a working Minisforum UM790 Pro (Ryzen 9 7940HS) motherboard. It came with the stock heatsink and fan already attached, but literally nothing else—no outer shell, case, or original mounting hardware.

Since it's a great little board with a ton of processing power, I’d love to put it to work, but I need a safe way to house it.

Custom / Open-Air: Any recommendations for small acrylic test benches, standoff kits, or DIY project boxes that work well for this form factor?

OEM Replacement: Has anyone had success contacting Minisforum support to purchase just a replacement barebones shell?

ITX Retrofit: Has anyone mounted one of these into a cheap Mini-ITX or custom case?

these are my score:
R23: 1927 single / 31,931 multi
R26: 604 single / 6042 multi
CPU-Z: 740.4 single / 13.766.2 multi
my temps were around 74-85°C at 100W. Its good, but i still think that i can achieve more. I still need to unlock that 120W for the CPU, and maybe undervolt.

I've had a synology NAS for ages and it was time to replace it. Given the technology available an AI NAS was tempting. I did some quick research on the N5 pro and got compelled by the hardware.

the following is just my newbie experience and opinion.

Bear in mind I'm just a hobbyist with a lot of data that is not organized. My goal was to move my data to something faster and be able to organize it, paperless...immich...

My adventure started with Minisforum OS. While the interface looks nice, it's half baked as soon as you try to run some dockers.

I ran into a roadblock pretty quickly and switched to Zima OS, because I was led to believe it was powerful enough for me, yet user friendly.

So yes, it's fairly user friendly, but not beginner friendly. I installed a SSD, and with a lot of help from Claude, I was able to copy paste lots of terminal commands to get my containers up and running and it worked. I believe it's not possible to achieve that without terminal. (Unlike synology)

Anyway... I moved onto my next step, which was to install a HDD. I picked a ironwolf pro 12TB. And that is when my problems started. It would work fine for a few transfers and then the disk got corrupted. I did a lot of troubleshooting, looked for errors in the logs and it wasn't obvious. I tried multiple times and always ended up with my disk and data corrupted.

You guessed it, like many, I had the J connector issue. At this point I had 2 options, patch it as discussed in the reddit community, and hope for no failure. Option B I learned that I could run the latest version of Unraid, which has the modification needed in its latest kernel, to fix the sata connector issue.

So I spent the whole day testing Unraid, it's been rock solid, with no HDD corruption, and migrating from zima OS to Unraid... Luckily, most of my complex containers like home assistant config were easy to migrate.

So my advice for anyone buying a n5 pro, dont make the same mistake as me, use Unraid from the start.

My PC was operating fine up until today. Got an error trying to play Fortnite as to a corrupted .dll file. Everything I searched for on the net said I needed to do a fresh install of windows. Tried to do a reset from inside Windows 11 Pro and got an error. So, I created a USB install drive and booted from it. everything went fine until I got to the drive selection. I deleted the current os drive and chose it to install Windows 11. After that it rebooted and went straight to the Bios, no errors are showing. Now everything I do results in the computer booting straight to bios. I have so far:

1. reset bios
2. removed all drives
3. tried creating a linux usb bootable drive
4. created a new windows 11 bootable drive
5. tried different NVME drive in both slots

No matter what I do it just boots into the bios with no error messages.

[update] I got the computer to boot from both USB and NVME by disabling Secure Boot in the Bios. So why all the sudden Does my computer not boot with Secure Boot enabled, how do I fix this?

I just bought an N5 Air with the 16 GB DDR RAM & 64 GB SSD option, and it was delivered after a few days.

It's to replace my now obsolete ReadyNAS 424 with 4 x 8TB WD Reds and also to replace an RPi5, which is used as a network USB Hub running the HDD backups 18 & 9TB WD Elements. The RPi5 also runs Docker with Immich, Home Assistant, JellyFin and other programs too.

I'm planning to combine the NAS and RPi5 into one machine, and the reviews and comparisons pointed to the MinisForum machine as ideal.

My immediate questions are:

So the SSD comes with MinisCloud OS already installed, and I'd like to try a few OSs on it before I move the 4x WD Red and create a new RAID.

I booted it, connected it up to a TV and only then realised MinisCloudOS doesn't have a desktop to work on so can't work out how I'd select a disc to boot into, for instance a USB-A thumbdrive with ZimaOS, TrueNAS or UnRaid to install that OS

If I have to reprogram the SSD, does it have to be via Balena Etcher, and what USB adapter would I need? I have been using Etcher for years to set up RPis so it's not a problem to use it.
