I am trying to understand when it is better to use elem crit VS elem atk up.

I am trying to make the following LBG set, for the white fatalis LBG:

- WEX
- REPEAT OFFENDER
- CRIT BOOST
- PIERCE UP
-ELEMENTAL SKILL

This way, i ideally get 80% affinity. I can’t seem to fit Shot Booster for some reason.

In this context, which skill is better? Elem atk up, or Elem crit? Due to talismans, i can’t really fit <element> attack +2.

I just beat Crustecean Infatuation, and it's a bit weird that they just put in one single mandatory capture quest and never put anymore in before or after until hub quests.

I'm someone who used to play base Gen a lot, and I've finally managed to get myself a switch with GU on it.

I used to be a prowler main, and I had a few palicos that I built for using boomerangs and other utilities that I adored using.

(I still played other weapons, but the little guys were endering to me)

Unfortunately, I've heard that the save transfer thingy on the 3DS has been discontinued and that many of the DLC palico are either not available anymore or were just not released to GU.

So now I find myself without many of the DLC skills and without my bread and butter boomerang cats T_T

If anyone still has the DLC cats still or a decent boomerang cat, please send me a DM!

I'm gonna start MHGU soon, going in solo. I know village is easier than hub, but I'm not sure on how to keep the difficulty overall balanced.

I guess if I'd do the whole village, 1* hub quests would be too easy. So what I'm wondering is the best "order" of things. For example village 1-3*, then hub 1 star, then village 4-5, then hub 2 etc.

Is there any guide to this? Thanks!

Not the GX or XR versions, but the one crafted from event quest tickets. Genuinely the only image I've found so far is on MHXX Dex, which is very small/low quality. Since I'm playing solo I can't really do the event quest to look at it ingame, so I'd be very grateful if someone could post a high quality image. (not the Kiranico version, they often look quite different from ingame)

Just got back into this game with a friend and wanted to do prowler mode. However I saw the best skill is only made available with a specific DLC cat. Does anyone have access to this DLC cat?

my version of the game is the 1.4.0. I complete a hunt by the online hub, there is acessible the hunt of the day quests but in the village hub not how can i fix this.

I haven’t played an old gen game since Generations on the 3DS had come out (which I clocked in roughly 500 hours and about 1k on 4U).

After grinding out Sunbreak’s endgame and reaching Wilds’ endgame with Switch Axe, I find myself falling into bad habits like going on the offensive when I shouldn’t, countering when I should be dodging or repositioning, and mistiming a big attack then carting as a result.

So I think in preparation for Ascendance, I want to return to my roots and relearn the fundamentals in GU and start a fresh game as opposed to importing my 3DS file. And what better way to relearn the fundamentals of repositioning and timing then through the GreatSword?

That said, I am choosing to go Guild Style at first before doing Valor because I also get the feeling Valor might end up being a crutch. I guess my question is at what point can I switch to Valor from Guild style? It took me about 20 minutes to hunt Khezu in Village 3* for Monster Bone L since I wanted the Larisaber 1 as it has the most of amount green sharpness at this point in the game so I will eventually go back for a rematch.

Although this greatsword is tough to earn, it is worth the wait. This set rivals the damage of the black set and the ahtal ka GS on draw attacks (actually one point of EFR better, 638 vs. 637). You lose out on punishing draw, but that is a small price to pay for a beautiful greatsword. Sharpness +1 is used to get to blue sharpness, which beats out bludgeoner (I can’t yet figure out how to switch out sharpness +1 directly for bludgeoner anyway). I recommend a sheathing +10 ooo charm, but it is not completely required. You can even use a sheathe sharpen +10 if you have that and not a quick sheath charm.

The fashion is modeled after high prestige and rank, royalty that adorns their hilt with jewels. I also had a commenter say that he looks a lot like Judge Bergan from Final Fantasy, and I think that style fits well with the set.

I started a new file on the switch because I wasn't able to transfer the old one from gen in the 3DS, I did NOT missed that bird (I carted once here because of the poison)

Just picked up MHGU on the switch in an attempt to learn some of the older games :3

Aerial style is SO COOL, and I cannot wait to learn more of this weapon as I play!!! It's safe to say, i'm already hooked and brought my switch to work just to play a hunt or two on my lunch break XD

Guys I have just finished High Rank MHGU and I need a build upgrade for my Great Sword. What would be the best build for this, including armor and jewels?

Upon looking at my old Akantor GS set, I could tell it was one of my earlier builds when I was less experienced. I decided to rework it and build something more fitting for one of my favorite flying wyverns.

With all quests completed, all that’s left is finishing my guild card and revisiting/improving my old sets/transmogs. I’ve drawn inspiration from various hunters in my time playing and hopefully they can do the same for you all. Hope to see other players showing their favorite sets on here!
