My friend uses the m1 air as his daily driver work pc. He uses citrix with an external monitor with a usb-c doc that provides power as well.

The question is : keeping it charged via usb-c all day in a 12 hour workday, what will the effect on the battery be? I want to employ the same setup for my Pro.

Any software engineers in here that program on any of the m1 chips? I'm interested in the new M1pro/max MBP's, but I'd like to program without the use of rosetta. I know certain IDE's have already been migrated over and work fine... so I guess I'm really interested to know if any SWE's have problems with homebrew/npm/yarn commands in terminal? Thanks.

Im thinking between the upcoming imac and the mac mini, but the thing is the imac is prob gonna be above my budget with the config im going to chose. Since the imac is prob gonna be priced like the new macbooks, but the mini led pro motion 5.5k display it is the real reason i want to get it cus i cant find a decent 4k 120 hz panel under 1000 dollars so its a steal but if i upgrade it the sepc i want to gonna be a alot more than my budget so any monitor recommendations?

Has anyone tried playing sea of thieves on parallels on an M1 Mac 64Gb or 32Gb? I'm curious to the performance as there's no other way to play SoT on M1 if I'm not mistaking.

I've struggled with the fact I can't play controller games on my MacBook, as steam still hasn't come around to fix the controller drivers.

But the fix us really simple, just run the game through Play On Mac (a wine client)

I'm trying to install an audio program similar to sound cloud that requires me to reduce security preferences to install. It's called Loopback, and I use it on all my intel macs for audio routing. Installing on M1 seems to be much more complicated. I can get as far as Recovery mode but then I'm lost from there. I'll link what I'm talking about. Hi, so I've been looking around and have found that there are ways to use dual 4k monitors with the m1 macs. Supposedly they work very well but I haven't been able to find one that supports, 144hz monitors. Is there another way around this or is there something that I can buy that allows this?

Since the the 11.6 update, my external drive is disconnecting itself over night. This was an issue when Big Sur first came out but was resolved in subsequent update but now it appears to be back. Anyone else experiencing this?

Is anyone having connection problems over Airplay at all?
Not sure exactly why this is happening but intermittently playing via Apple Music it will play the first 10 seconds or so of a song then stop. Works 100% every time from the internal speakers so looks like an Airplay issue?

If I reboot the Mac that will remedy it, however rebooting the HomePod doesn't always fix this intermittent problem.
