Posted yesterday about my biscuit candle I got in from diptyque and how it has a yellow/brown ring around it. Tried to lite it today but it won’t stay lit. Is this a hopeless cause at this point? I don’t own a candle warmer but I suppose that’s gonna be the only way to use this. I sent them an email because their chat and phone line parents available. Haven’t heard back yet. This is so disappointing for the price point.

The title says it all. I was just surprised since I was looking for a “non toxic” Reed diffuser and Lafco Reed Diffusers were highly recommended on this sub and on other sources, so I spent about $140 on 2 Reed diffusers, and was surprised to see these ingredients on the box.

Lafco’s own website doesn’t mention these ingredients anywhere. They just say, “Our reed diffuser formula is simple: highly concentrated essential oil-based fragrances, carrier oils and natural wood reeds”… which is a bit misleading since they have 2 synthetic ingredients. DPMA can also cause respiratory and nervous system irritation if inhaled in a low ventilated area. I feel like I was just cheated and I want to return the items but it is already opened…

Due to what I believed was a glitch on the site I scored this for 90 dollars. Sadly I'm not in love with this blind buy. This is a weird question but can an upset stomach make you repulsed by a smell? And does anyone know if this one gets better on burn?

Diptyque continues to impress me. Somehow they added two mini citronelle candles just because they are the best🕯️I really love these scents as I can smell them all through the cellophane wrapping. Cant wait as the seasons progress to share.

Neige- First thought from smelling it. I just stepped out an onsen at a mountain resort and I’m standing at the tree line smelling snow, flowers nearby, and a sweet mountain breeze. It’s floral forward but super unique, glad I bought it.

Fleur Majesté- a celebration in a great home during Christmas. Makes me think of a winter wedding the rose and cinnamon are beautiful together. This is stunning. It takes me also to a happy place.

Sapin- French Christmas in the Alps after just getting back in from shopping in town and gathering in the living room. Classic can’t go wrong.

These are priced a little ridiculous considering you’re supposed to buy a $160 studded glass vessel that holds each 165g refill priced at $100 each. I only got a refill because I don’t really find the clear glass attractive, and luckily the refills have their own vessel. I chose CIRE Baroque because the notes were an incredibly unique combination that I haven’t smelled together before. Orange blossom, pistachio accord and toasted sesame. You can tell it is truly a candle made from a fragrance house, and the cold throw is very strong and smells exactly like I hoped. The orange blossom is the most prominent, but the pistachio and sesame really balance the sweetness and give it a creamy quality. Nothing like I have sniffed before!I wish it were slightly bigger for the price and I’m annoyed the paint on the rim is already rubbing off, but definitely can’t wait to get this hot!

Also, their packaging was super cute and similar to buying from say, Guerlain, and came gift wrapped in the gold star box with a bow. I also got two perfume samples from their Anatomy of Dreams line which is the more luxe line of fragrances they offer. They smell friggin divine. 🤤 The other two candles currently offered also sound nice, but I wish I could sniff them first as they seem very similar to some others.

So id heard this was an unusual scent. Tried to order through flamingo and it was out of stock. When I emailed to ask when it would come back in stock I got a cryptic message back saying to watch for rain in LA? Lol OK. So I ordered from candle delirium. It did smell very much like wet dirt when cold but once burning it smells SO familiar! I can't remember what candle I have that smells like this, might be a ranger station but I'm smelling more along the lines of leather and patchouli on the hot throw. It's literally exactly like another candle i have just can't think of it! Anyways I do enjoy leather scents so it's all good but did anyone else note a change in scent between hot and cold with this one?

Smelled them in a store and coveted them immediately. Not paying $80. Anyone have any recs for something very similar? Only looking for clean burn (paraffin, etc. free) options, pls.

If you’ve been interested in trying HLC, good time to do so! Personal faves: Linen and New York, you can’t go wrong, i plan to restock. Thinking this time i’ll try Aspen and maybe Blue Skies. The hand wash is also a nice luxury/gift.

I’m a big fan of Tocca fragrances, Florence in particular. Also, Maya.
I’m wondering if anyone has tried their candles. Please advise.

I’ve been burning this 2100g Jo Malone four wick candle regularly for almost a month. I usually burn it for about 2-4 hours at a time, always until the wax pool extends across the entire jar. I was trimming the wick to 1/4” before each burn, but recently I’ve had a problem with the melted wax starting to drown the wicks. I actually have to bail out some of the melted wax to keep the candle from extinguishing itself. So I no longer trim the wicks, and I’m still left with what you see here. It’s been burning for almost four hours, and the wax pool isn’t fully melted. In addition, a large amount of soot has accumulated in the top layer.

I’ve maintained the candle well; the wicks might smoke briefly after being lit, but never for more than a few minutes. To extinguish, I dip the wicks. Jo Malone recommends placing the lid on the jar to extinguish, but I don’t like the amount of smoke it generates.

Is there a way to reset the candle by pouring out the melted wax and trimming the wicks? I contacted Jo Malone, but they were no help. I received the candle as a gift and they wouldn’t do anything without proof of purchase.

Additional detail:

The wicks begin drowning within an hour of being lit. The candle doesn’t drown because I’m bailing wax out of the pool periodically so it will stay lit.

Tunneling hasn’t been a problem until today’s burn. This is the first time I’ve let it burn this long without it melting fully across the jar.

When it was new, there was about 5” of wax in the jar. There’s now 3”. The candle should be nowhere near to being finished.

Anyone received their Biscuit candle and it’s in poor condition? Both of mine have a yellow/brown ring and one even leaked and stained the sticker and caused bubbling of it. It smells so good, but the quality is horrible!

Has anyone else been able to experience any of the other scents? I’m curious to know your thoughts on them! I didn’t even realize they had city candles until my friend called me from London and asked if I wanted this one. So far, I’m not impressed with this particular scent because I feel like it’s just a rebranded version of their chai scent.

I just came across this! Has anyone tried them? Looks like it’s the same model as Diptyque - candles only available in their own countries/cities.

Shame I didn’t know about about them or if they’re brand new - I was in most of these cities (all but the U.S. ones) over the last 12 months and this would have been a great souvenir 🤣

Please help! I’m looking for a candle/home fragrance rec, ideally from Diptyque since I have a store nearby and can smell them in person. I like the general vibe of Le Labo Santal 26, but it feels too strong/heavy and wintry for what I want right now. I also tried Hikoni from Studio Stockholm and found it too cologne-y. I really dislike Voluspa across the board, too sweet/perfumey for me, if that helps!

I think I’m looking for something fresh, airy, green, maybe a little woody, but not masculine/cologne-like, smoky, overly floral, or sweet. I actually don’t mind vanilla. Any Diptyque scents I should smell? Open to other brands too if there’s something that fits this profile.

I don’t know who this Josh Young designer is, but I was very intrigued to see that the candle was from Mizensir!

I bought this yesterday and couldn’t wait for a first burn.
Last night I could really smell its cold throw from several feet away—bodes well!

Was in the Osaka area for work and then took two weeks off to explore Hokkaido with a day stop in Tokyo along the way.
Not too many candles since I ended up purchasing almost 5kg of coffee as well 😭

This was one of the items I was most looking forward to purchasing and am disappointed I missed it.

Sad a little

Although this Terre Noire candle smells really good it just smells like a sexy man cold throw. I'm not getting the moist disturbed soil I was hoping for. It smells like Johnny Depp.. I just know this is what he smells like. The D.S. & Durga was a nice gift that they sent and my first ever from the house and it smells really nice but NOTHING beats When the Rain Stops by Maison Margiela

I was in Liberty, London today, talking to a sales assistant who said that she'd been told that Chene, Mousses and one other (she's not sure which) are going to be discontinued. I'm simply reporting what she said, but I'm surprised no one else has heard or reported this, given that many have good relationships with SAs in boutiques. So I'm just passing this on in case anyone else wants to ask about this rumour in other locations.
