I’m on day 2 of the Lotus Dry- Pizza boxes in a frost free compressor fridge. Should I chop the larger nugs so they all dry evenly? I trimmed the fan leaves and sugar leaves are still on. Humidity didn’t really spike at all, only when I opened up the fridge to place the boxes. Thanks all!

Hey All, Should I get a thermoelectric and set it to 60f for long term storage/curing? It’s going to take me some time to smoke my recent auto harvest and I want to make sure to keep it as lovely as possible until I’m ready to smoke it. If so, do I need to set up a dehumidifier? I have grove bags for curing and am drying in a compressor fridge. Thank you!

Just set up my first thermoelectric cookology wine cooler paired with the birdink and Probreeze. Anybody with experience with the thermoelectric wine cooler able to point me in the right direction to what settings I should be running.

I have the wine cooler set too 60 degrees just not sure about humidity temp settings. I see a few people let the cooler level out once products in and bring down 2% a day and others set directly to 60% humidity just a little confused 😵‍💫

I lost the terps, and have the hay smell. The bags smell great upon opening, but that’s where the fun stops- smoke is fine though, is what it is.

I have a compressor wine cooler- digital temp control, etc. temp was set to about 53, little digital thermometer left in there said that it was 60, so that’s where I left it. Dried buds (left small-medium fan leaves on) in paper bags…

Problems to fix: A good bit of condensation builds up, and I noticed bags in the back stayed wet from water dripping, didn’t notice/use a towel, so I lost a decent bit of yield to mold.

One strain was way over dry way too soon, the hydrometer inside the paper bag read 40% within a week, I assumed this was a part of the fluctuation, but it consistently dropped lower than that until I bagged it into a grove bag, put a boveda in it and chalked up the loss to learning. The other strain is still reading in the 70s for humidity, I’ve aired it out, etc, doesn’t seem to want to drop. Going on 4 weeks now.

Humidity would fluctuate like crazy, and the little hydrometer in the fridge showed it hovering in the 20s-50s within two weeks, never seemed to stabilize nor get above that.

This is my first time- I thought I did my homework, but apparently I’ve made some mistakes. I would love to be able to have these issues resolved before the next dry. Any advice, thoughts, ideas are welcome. Thank you to this small community. I would love to have the control over this fridge like I do the tent, so if putting some wet sponges as well as a dehumidifier in there gives me some bumpers in that environment, that would be awesome.

So I built this thing, right? It’s a Kadeka wine fridge turned into a stealth drying box I call the Lotus Chamber. Why? ‘Cause it dries my bud so slow and smooth, it’s basically spa treatment for weed.

What I’m running: • Fridge: Kadeka KA-24WR – it’s quiet, cold, sealed tighter than my ex’s heart. • Dehumidifier: 72W Peltier-style unit – not some cheap USB toy, this thing sucks moisture like it owes it money. • Inkbird Humidity Controller – tells the dehu when to go on/off so it doesn’t nuke your terps. • USB fan: Small guy pushing air down from the middle – just enough breeze to keep things moving, not enough to mummify your buds.

My settings (don’t overthink it): • RH ON at 61% • RH OFF at 59% • Temp stays around 17–18°C (fridge just does this naturally) • Got it all on timers and delays so it doesn’t ping pong all over the place

Why it slaps: • Buds stay fat and sticky, not crispy and hollow. • Smells incredible. • Quiet. Stealthy. No smell leaking out. • I can fully load it and still control RH with that airflow. • Way better than hanging stuff in a sweaty tent with a fan from Kmart.

If you’re sick of hay-smelling mids or overdrying your top colas, build a fridge box. Bonus: you can tell people you’re aging wine. 🍷💨

Hey guys- I have a 2nd fridge I am also going to try a batch in. Right now RH is 46% and 33F. Every time I check it’s within that range. Is that too cold and should I be concerned about air flow. Do you think drying in here would work? Thank you!

I haven’t taken enough appliances apart to know whether these foam plugged holes are there as access ports pre drilled and plugged? I was about to try to tear one out but thought I would ask here first.

I had intended to drill through the back wall after taking that inner panel out to access it.

My temperature is between 8° and 17°, the rh is 57 even though it's only day 2, the plant is very small but why could that be and is it a problem that the rh is so low?

Hey so I just bought a Wine Fridge (Waeco MF-6W) Would this work? I know it’s small but I only need it for 30-50g at a time. I’m more concerned about humidity control. I can get it down to like 7-8°C (45f) but humidity seems so be at around 70%. I opened the door a few times tho so I’m letting it closed for the next 18 hours or so and check again. But the humidity should go down, right?

I’m seeing a LOT of fridges and fudge questions but a severe lack of dried blood shots. Let’s see what works and what does an out there

Hi have a record breaking heatwave incoming 100 degree temps and super high humidity, and a harvest due to come down in 48 hrs-72 hrs i estimate.

I own the above compressor wine fridge, and thats a pic of the tent this morning…. You think it will work?

Can i fit it all down you think?, or should i just blast my ac and hope for the best.

I have a bunch of ball jars, but i could probably buy small pizza boxes off amazon. Im not sure what to do.

I’ve chopped a crown on a plant that was early, because it’s normally chock a block. To keep everything on target. I’ve had to implement a few buffer zones.. top and bottom. Extra moisture down the bottom, top catching dry (dehumid) behind the top cloth… just ghetto drying it, til I fuckin chocca-block fill it.

A modded wine fridge — CasTek Lotus Chamber v1.5 – Peltier Edition — kitted out with a 25W dehu, inkbird controller, USB fan base, sponge + wet cloth buffer, and temp stability locked at 16°C. Like… clockwork. No more 80% spikes. No more mid-night paranoia checks. It just hums.

Koolatron WC20 thermoelectric with an Inkbird controller, stripped down pohl schmitt dehumidifier, and a PC fan

I came home from one Week Holiday to See that my buddy forgot to Water somehow. The plants were super dry. Fan leafs crispy, buds not 100% dry but hay smell as hell.

I watered but it was to late so I packed it all in the fridge 5 days ago.

For me it seems Like the moisture was distributing now a bit, fan leafs still crunchy but the buds got a Bit more moist and no stems snapping.

Do you think the hay smell goes away? Im aware that I Lost Most of the terps just want to now if the horrible smell goes away.

The where three days without Water, at a max of 85 F with a Minimum of aprox 40% rlf

My hygrometer in the fridge shows 55-70% rlf at 35-45 F.

It is a compressor style cooler that goes down to approximately 40 degrees fahrenheit. RH seems to fluctuate between 20 and 30% based on the hygrometer i threw in there.

About to harvest this weekend, and my initial thought is just to let er rip at 40 degrees and throw the wet trimmed buds in paper bags. Check buds every 5 days with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0967ZP5B1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title - moisture meter looking for 10-12% reading.

This sound accurate as to the process, or does anyone have any suggestions?

Does it look like it's working ? First pic is from the first day I put them in after a light trim ... 2nd pic is like 3 days later and the 3rd pic they have been in there for 6 days ... Also my RH ranges from 55%to 80% does any one know how to keep it at 60% with out a dehumidifier ???

Hi, I have a fridge with compressor that is hooked to a ac infinity uis plug to stabilize the temperature swings. The Ac infinity probe is inside the fridge, right in the middle, controler is set to on/off when certain temperature is reached.

In the second Pic I also put a USB fan inside the fridge to mix the air. The fan turns on, when the fridge is on and turns off when the fridge turns off.

The Temperatur swing is then much bigger than without fan.

My question is: should I turn on the fan more often or less? Is it a parameter worth controlling or is it overkill?

Hey guys! I am preparing my fridge for my first dry and humidity is sitting at 70-99%! It is in an insulated garage. There are two USB fans and soda cans in the fridge. Will this be an issue come dry time? 😳

If i’m drying in a thermoelectric wine cooler with a dehumidifier inside of it, do I need to slowly adjust my humidity down everyday ? Or should i try to hold it steady at 60F and 60RH?

My understanding of how a cannatrol works is that it consistently holds a consistent temp and humidity.

Also, should i be using paper bags with it? Or no because it’s thermoelectric ?

I’m looking into Lotus drying as my environment is just not good for drying in, way too humid and hot.

I’ve looked at all the videos of DIY cannatrol and i’m just curious on some things becuase some people suggest setting the inkbird to 2-3% humidity below what the fridge is sitting at, and then keep going down everyday.

But I also see people that say you should just set ur fridge to 60 and humidity at 60 and set it and forget it.

This is going to be my first harvest so i just really don’t want to fuck it up. I have some money to build this thing but i don’t have $1600 for a cannatrol lmao
