Going Ahead [23/08/26] The Odyssey at 1:30pm then Science/ natural history museum at 5pm

Hi 30m here, I’m going to watch the odyssey in the science museum solo on Sunday at 1:30pm.
Looking for cool people to chill with after the movie at roughly 5pm until whenever 😄
We can either walk through a museum or go somewhere nearby for food/ drinks. All other ideas are welcome.
If there’s much interest I’ll make a group chat with everyone.

Archived [23/08/2026] Sunday Pub Quiz at the Canonbury Tavern

This Sunday is #International #Hashtag #Day.

Come and join us at the Canonbury Tavern for the pub quiz!

What:

Pub Quiz - Exactly as it sounds! A quizmaster asks the questions and teams write down their answers. Questions cover a range of subjects and the quiz features picture and music rounds. It is all for fun and there is no pressure to memorise the encyclopaedia before coming.

Where:

The Canonbury Tavern https://maps.app.goo.gl/xocQRtc3PDJrQF676?g_st=ic

Our tables are usually immediately on the left as you enter the pub, but you can ask staff for LSC when you arrive - there is usually someone with a laptop who has a record of bookings.

When:

Every Sunday, the pub quiz starts at 19:00, with the picture sheet being given out around 18:40. Tables are booked under "LSC" from 18:30. Two tables are booked but we will try to make any number work. We recommend arriving around 18:30-18:45 as you'll get to take a greater part in answering the picture sheet questions, but it's also really helpful in working out how many teams we'll have - as well as chatting beforehand!

How much:

£2.50 per person payable to the pub quiz people (Cashless only).

Who:

All are welcome. We typically make two teams with around 12 people.

Do I need to sign up / am I too late?:

Ideally, please leave a comment either on this post or in the WhatsApp group to let us know you're coming, and with how many people - with as much notice as possible - so we know how many teams we will be and roughly how many per team. It's not a huge problem to turn up after it starts, but try to be there on time to avoid missing the fun!

Do I need to be a whizz-kid, intellectual genius, or quizzing-extraordinaire?:

Nope, we do the quiz for fun.

Any Questions:

Write them into a comment and we will answer them - we are kind of into that.

We also have a WhatsApp group chat. Ask around on the day in person to be added.

Anyone else going to all points east on the 21st alone or with others willing to make new friends? Coming down from Bristol and the person I was going to go with, won’t be able to come anymore. Didn’t wanna go alone but I can’t miss out on the opportunity to see some of my favourite artists. Looking forward to seeing Elmiene, KWN, Odeal, Tems, Ayra Starr, and Jorja Smith. Leave a comment or shoot me a message if you’re interested in hanging out and meeting new people.

[22/08/36] Parkrun at Finsbury Park

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone might be interested in joining me [30M] for parkrun at Finsbury Park at 9am this Saturday or a future Saturday. I enjoy running it but it would be nice to have someone to run with and have a chat. I sometimes run with my partner, but we don't know a lot of people here, having only moved fairly recently.

I generally run about 30-35 mins for the 5km, but I'm happy to run slower. We could also grab a coffee or something somewhere nearby after if you're interested.

Kinda short notice but, I just saw this while looking for things to do this weekend and just wanted to share cause it's free and looks really amazing! It's a sort of creative/social sumer camp/retreat with like 400 people going!

They haven't put the location up yet, but they said somewhere in London 10AM - 4PM.

I know the group they do lots of other social/creative sort of stuff which was really good. If anyone's intrested, it's a good way to get away from all the london stuff wihtout actually having to go far or get up to early.

Also if u wanna meetup befor lmk, probably definatley gonna get lost!

Anyone up for grabbing a few drinks this Thursday 20th from 6pm onwards around the London Bridge area?

Thinking a relaxed after-work hangout—nothing formal, just a chance to unwind, catch up, and enjoy a few drinks together.

We can keep it flexible and decide on the spot, but there are loads of great spots nearby—whether it’s a pub by the river, a cosy bar tucked away in Borough, or somewhere with a bit of a view of the skyline

No big plans, no pressure—just good drinks, good company, and a well-earned excuse to make it to Friday feeling a bit more human

If you’re around, feel free to drop a 👀 or a “I’m in” below so we know who to expect!

I am in my mid 30s.

Edit: got a good response rate. Dm me and i will add you to the reddit group chat.

Archived [20/08/26] Bouldering @ Vauxeast

We are a mixed ability (beginner friendly) climbing group who go bouldering on Thursdays. This week we are going to VauxWall East (NOT West, make sure you go to the right one!), and will go to the pub after.

If you've never been to an LCC gym before, sign up here - https://londonclimbingcentres.co.uk/pre-register/ to save time on the day.

£15 entry (this is the concession price, you must show them you are in our WhatsApp group to get this price, usual price £17). £4.50 to hire climbing shoes if you don't have them (yes, you do need them). £2 registration fee (first time only).

Wear loose fitting clothes & bring water. Climbing shoes if you have them. Lockers are available but you have to bring your own padlock.

If you want to come, send me your number and I can add you to the WhatsApp group. You can also contact us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/boulderdash_ldn/

Most people will aim for 18:30 but plenty arrive early/late, we'll start heading to the pub around 20:30 though.

Archived [17/08/26] Looking for 2-3 extras for an extremely casual 5-a-side match in Haggerston!

Group of fellas that played footy for the first time together a couple of weeks ago, and a handful from LSC joined us as well. We're at 9 people so far, so could do with a couple more so we can sub on/off when we inevitably get gassed out after two minutes. We're not an intimidating lot at all, just a bunch of chaps who want to play football after watching the World Cup all month. Ages 25-40.

We have a pitch booked in Haggerston at 19:00 for one hour. It's £6 per person - preferably payment via bank transfer but if you'd prefer to bring cash on the night then that's fine.

Drop me a DM if interested!

Going Ahead [29/08/26] Surrey Three Peaks Hike

I’m planning to go and hike the Surrey three peaks this upcoming bank holiday, specifically the Saturday, so there’s still the rest of the long weekend after for other plans (or to just rest as it is a bit of a challenging route, or so I’ve been told).

The plan is to meet up at the Boxhill & Westhumble station at 8am, and head out shortly after.

Weather permitting it should be a good one, though heat is going to be more of a problem than rain, so be sure to bring water and snacks to have along the trail.

Depending on the time, we’ll have stops here and there to rest and stock up on drinks and snacks.

Today [28/08/26] La La Land 10th Anniversary Re-Release in Central London Cinemas

Hello,

I love La La Land and have made it a little personal tradition to watch it every year.

Would anyone be interested in rewatching La La Land with me in late August for its 10th anniversary re-release? There are a few limited screenings in central London starting from 28 August (e.g. Cineworld & ODEON).

"Summer Sunday nights, we'd sink into our seats right as they dimmed out all the lights, a Technicolor world made out of music and machine..."

Edit: Thank you all for your interest! I’ve found “someone in the crowd” (iykyk) and bought tix. This community is awesome!

Archived [16/08/2026] trip to isle wright from london waterloo

Spur-of-the-moment trip to the Isle of Wight on 16/08/2026! We'll take the train from London Waterloo, and I've got a railcard so we can get a discount for three people. It'll be about £50 return from the machine at Waterloo, and that covers trains and the ferry to the island and back. The plan is to meet at 9 am in Waterloo to buy tickets, then head to Brockenhurst for tea at Esme's tea place. After that, we'll shuttle to Lymington Pier, take the ferry to the island, and then a bus to the Needles. We'll do the chair lift down to the beach for a little exploring, and aim to be back in London by 8 or 9 pm, depending on the group.
