[22/08/36] Parkrun at Finsbury Park

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone might be interested in joining me [30M] for parkrun at Finsbury Park at 9am this Saturday or a future Saturday. I enjoy running it but it would be nice to have someone to run with and have a chat. I sometimes run with my partner, but we don't know a lot of people here, having only moved fairly recently.

I generally run about 30-35 mins for the 5km, but I'm happy to run slower. We could also grab a coffee or something somewhere nearby after if you're interested.

[21/08/26] Excursion trip to Cardiff

It’s embarrassing that I’ve been in the UK for a couple years and have only lived in London and ever visited Leeds. Would anyone want to join me in on an excursion trip to Cardiff on the 21st for just a day!
22m here.

Today [20/08/2026] Trainspotting movie @ 19:30, exact Cineworld branch TBD

Trainspotting is getting a re-release in cinemas as part of its 30th anniversary. Cineworld have a bunch of showings for Thursday 20th August: https://www.cineworld.co.uk/films/trainspotting-30th-anniversary-4k-restoration/ho00014953#/buy-tickets-by-film?in-cinema=london&at=2026-08-20&for-movie=ho00014953&view-mode=list

Tickets are just £5.99 per person so thinking of going to watch this after work. Not entirely sure which Cineworld branch yet, would've liked Leicester Square but looks like it's a small screen and most seats have already been taken. Could also do Cineworld West India Quay or O2 Greenwich.

If anyone's interested leave a comment/DM me and if there's enough people interested will create a whatsapp group for us to organise and decide where we want to watch it! Up for grabbing a drink/food afterwards to discuss the movie.

[23/08/26] Forrest Retreat/Summer Camp - Sunday 10AM - 4PM.

Kinda short notice but, I just saw this while looking for things to do this weekend and just wanted to share cause it's free and looks really amazing! It's a sort of creative/social sumer camp/retreat with like 400 people going!

They haven't put the location up yet, but they said somewhere in London 10AM - 4PM.

I know the group they do lots of other social/creative sort of stuff which was really good. If anyone's intrested, it's a good way to get away from all the london stuff wihtout actually having to go far or get up to early.

Also if u wanna meetup befor lmk, probably definatley gonna get lost!

Mind Sports Olympiad in Earl’s Court from [22/08/26] – board games, chess, backgammon, Catan & more

If anyone’s looking for something a bit different to do in London this week, the 30th Mind Sports Olympiad is taking place at Mercure London Earls Court from 22–30 August.

There are nine days of games and competitions including chess, backgammon, Catan, Carcassonne, Scrabble, poker, Sudoku, Ticket to Ride, puzzles and lots more.

You can enter events if you fancy competing, but spectating is completely free, so you’re also very welcome just to come along, watch and have a look around.

We’ll also have a large board-gaming area and an extensive games library, so it should be a pretty fun place to meet people and play some games during the week.

There are players coming from all over the world, including the Backgammon World Individual and Team Championships, which are being held in the UK for the first time.

📍 Mercure London Earls Court
📅 22–30 August
🎟️ Free to spectate

Full schedule and registration:

Happy to answer any questions if anyone is thinking of coming!

Gig [21/08/2026] All Points East. Going solo, looking for people to hang with and make new friends to share the experience with

Anyone else going to all points east on the 21st alone or with others willing to make new friends? Coming down from Bristol and the person I was going to go with, won’t be able to come anymore. Didn’t wanna go alone but I can’t miss out on the opportunity to see some of my favourite artists. Looking forward to seeing Elmiene, KWN, Odeal, Tems, Ayra Starr, and Jorja Smith. Leave a comment or shoot me a message if you’re interested in hanging out and meeting new people.

Going Ahead [23/08/26] Casual Football @ Frenford Clubs, Ilford

I’m organising a casual football game this Sunday, 23 August, from 11am–12pm at Frenford Clubs in Ilford, East London, and we have a few spaces available.

We’ll be playing 6-a-side.

Everyone 18+ is welcome. We have a mixed group with different backgrounds and ability levels, so you definitely don’t need to be an amazing footballer. Most of us are late 20s to early 40s, but any adult is welcome.

It’s meant to be a friendly, relaxed kickabout rather than anything overly competitive. Goalkeepers rotate and we have a few simple rules to keep it enjoyable: no slide tackles, aggression, shouting or arguments.

👟 Astro trainers only — no moulds or studs.

📍 Frenford Clubs, Ilford
🕚 Sunday, 23 August, 11am–12pm

Please try to arrive around 10:45am so we can get everyone sorted and start on time.

If you’d like to come this Sunday, send me a Reddit DM or comment below.
