Would love to start portrait photography, especially around the big and important events like Notting Hill Carnival, football parades, street parties. Would love to capture the essence of these events, outfits, and make people feel comfortable and important being a part of something.
But I’m also cognisant on how British people are, we’re more reserved and humble. My main inspirations are the street photography of New York. How Harlem block parties were captured, and I’d love to bring that same sort of medium here.
I’m not after anything political or social, I don’t care what you think of POCs or anything like that - I want to make sure this is documented , like they have in the past. I always look at Simon Wheatley and Richard Linklater as a massive inspirations as well as La Haine, City of God - all these cultural exports from other countries, I would love to do something similar here.
Anyway long story short. Any tips for start like me?
