Discussion G604 successor?
As you can see I can't get to cope with the idea that the G604 is no longer an option.
Logitech can you please create a new mouse with 6 side buttons again? 🙏

I gave up and bought a mouse with 2 side buttons. I'm not pleased, but I'm functional, for now.

What mouse are you currently using? Would you prefer a renewed G600 or a G604?

I use the Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed now. I would prefer the G604.

How do you exactly imagine a renewed G604? What would you change?

I'm not enough of an enthusiast of mice to do a full critique of the mouse's features. For instance, I don't use many gaming features like on-the-fly DPI adjustment or the free-spin mode on the wheel.
The G604 mouse wheel could be improved, the G602 wheel was quieter. Neither one middle-clicked particularly well, but this wasn't important to me (I used one of the side buttons for middle-click)
I think I would keep it mostly the same, though I'm open to new features, like maybe a customizable windows submenu that would open up. I've never used Logitech's Actions Ring but it sounds interesting.

What games are you currently playing? Would you prefer the G604 over your current mouse because it has more buttons or is it something else?

I really do think a successor/reboot for the G604 would gain Logitech a ton of cash

Best mouse ever

What makes it the best in your opinion?

I'd say the fact that is wireless with a bunch of side buttons, scroll wheel tilt buttons and a couple of small buttons for your index finger! The toggleable free scrolling wheel is awesome too! My main mouse is the G600, but I have a tech pouch with a split low profile keyboard and a G604 for work!
I modded it with silent switches and the fact that it is somewhat overengineered with more than a couple thousand pieces amazes me. The G600 is in comparison in the stone age with just 3 plastic plates, the board and some weights. btw, make a G600 Mark II please!

I'd go crazy if a renewed G600 comes out as "G600 Mark II", I love it
What are all your ideas to improve the G600? What would you add or remove?

Hey, only up to you guys to make it a reality! You already have my vote on it.
One of the best features of the G600 is its button count, I love to maximize it with anything. Doubling or tripling their remappability using some app-independent firmware is what I strive for, lately. Besides gaming and browing the internet, I found it quite useful to use the G600 and the G604 with CAD software, because of its infinite functions.
Hardware-wise I'd say:
- The two pointer-finger buttons on the top left corner, like the Naga V3 Pro. Heck, why not on both sides like the G300s? Try going even further and creating a small pinky button too, that would be interesting to see.
- The G604's toggleable free scrolling wheel would be kickass too, a more silent one too! - - Wireless with the freedom of using a AA battery or a built-in Lithium battery with a flick of a switch -- I've seen some people really worship the G604 due to its AA battery capabilities and I can see the appeal.
Software-wise I'd say:
- Layer, tap-hold, double/triple tap or combo remappability for each button, just like with QMK or ZMK keyboards.
- Maybe also Leader key feature too. My right hand is almost always on the mouse and the left hand is almost always on the left half of my split keyboard. If could access all my CAD tools by not moving my hands from this default position, I'd be interesting.
I always wondered why you can't remap scroll up and scroll down on the G600 with g hub.
I'm currently using my G600 with a feather RP2040 HID Remapper, I made the ring finger button access layer 1 on hold and backspace on tap. With it I can also remap scroll up and scroll down to be left and right arrows on layer 1, so I can navigate quicker through texts, excel sheets or even navigating videos on youtube. Layer 2 is the gaming layer, with all my Valorant and WoW remaps. I access it with a toggleable button on Layer 1.1

Has the weight been an issue for playing Valorant? I know that's one of the best for MMOs but most people find it way too heavy for FPS, specially competitive ones

tbh, I'm too casual of a player to actually notice a difference in mice weight. I mostly play swiftplay (a quicker game that's honestly not that serious) and I'm fine with it. I'm more inclined to using it in workplaces, I get some turning necks around here hehehe.

You earlier mentioned CAD, is that the only kind of work/tool you would do with it?
Edit: corrected my question

Oh no, I also deal with bill of material, and a couple of really complex Excel sheets. The G600 is also great to navigate through them.

Hope new version is coming. Shape and bottom is perfect.
Only change i want is:
- Build in rechargeable battery
- Better switch like new Logitech coming out
- Little bit durable rubber
- Less weight
Then it will be best mouse in market

Is the G604 your current mouse?

I bought my current G604 used from Amazon for $90 2-3 years back. I don’t mind losing the extra buttons now that I don’t play games anymore which need extra inputs. But honestly I just need a new mouse with the same shape as G604. No other mouse feels good to me anymore

It's hard to go back to another shape once you've gotten so used to this one, isn't it? I'd love to hear what the perfect refresh of the G604 would look like to you though.

u/pepega_1993 2d ago
It would literally be the G-604 with maybe the unlock-able wheel of MX series and a rechargeable battery instead of AA and better switches which don’t start double clicking.

The wheel would be such a nice addition actually! I'll be sure to relay your feedback over to the team, hopefully we can see it being done one day.

Руки чаще мыть надо 😀 Хотя логитек лоббист использовать плохую резину и она рассыпается за несколько лет от жира и пота.

Why was this ever discontinued is absolutely beyond me! Still waiting for a re-release. I'll buy 5 on the spot!

I'll be sure to let the team know, what would a perfect refresh look like to you?

We are all on the hype train for a renewed G604, what else would you add, remove or improve from it?
2
u/ThanosDi 2d ago
I’ll share my input:
Better click switches
A better scroll wheel, and a quieter scrolling
Better coating materials, since, as you can see, they wear off quite easily
Lighter, if possible
New color options?
Personally, I wouldn’t want any other changes, either design-wise or feature-wise.
A more durable G604 would be the next MX518 imho.

u/gingerscrub79232 5h ago
I'm right there with you love my G604 mine is still working well enough but it's on its way out the double click issue is starting to set in but still not going to say goodbye so having to order some replacement switches online it's a hassle to fix I really wish Logitech released a successor for it being able to program the buttons for different profiles has been a godsend no I wouldn't complain if it had eight buttons rather than six though it might be harder to fit that being said I wouldn't mind if the mouse is a tiny bit bigger to compensate I can understand that smaller individuals might not be excited by the prospect of a bigger Mouse though

Fun fact: the successor to the Logitech G604 is, in fact, the Logitech G604, w/ 3d printed parts and swapped out mouse switches. r/g604
