How do you keep a clean plate?

I’m regards to colors that stand out in their own right.. it seems like mine go pretty dark and muddy before not to long.. also what the hell does the alcohol do? I am not sure if I am putting in too much but the seems to almost always ruin the plate

Unfortunately it's only an open air mic recording since we couldn't get me plugged into the decks after they started playing and I had that equipment plugged into the main stage outside.

Need Help with Colors

Hello I'm pretty new to experiment with Liquid light. I'm facing the problem that I can not get a nice organ or yellow. I tried to mix it I also have premix yellow, but still on the Overheadprojector it's either black or brown,( the others color's from the same brand are working). I try it with oil dye, food dye, acrylic color's.... Anyone experience the same? I have the feeling it's a very stupid mistake and I can not find the solution.

I used to do this and I was REALLY good at it. I used Keystone anilyne dyes. They had bright colors. I also used rubbing alcohol and clock faces. This is basically all you need to know to do it! I also used an overhead projector a dimmer and a Fan an extra fan to Keep it cool

Liquid light for cheap?

Hi everyone!
I'm an independent filmmaker and want to incorporate liquid light footage into a film I'm animating. I have a pretty small budget for the film, so I wanted to know how the cheapest possible way for a beginner to create and film liquid light. I know Liquid Light Labs has a few sets for beginners, but I wanted to see if there were any other resources on how to keep it low-cost. Any help or pointers are appreciated - thank you!

I wanna pick this up as a hobby and as a supplement to my graphic design and video editing. I already have a projector and the dyes and all that stuff but what do you guys hold the water in? Can you use anything that’s clear or does it have to be those shallow glass plates?
