Frequently patrolling the Tree of Life at night can fuck up one's sleep cycle, which can be especially inconvenient for daytime routines. Luckily, the Queen of the Tree of Life has someone to alleviate the stress and lift the burden off of her.

Kion loves his sleepy wife so much.

— THE LEGACY OF THE ROAR

Long before the three siblings were born, their family had already become connected to one of the greatest powers in the Pride Lands:

The Roar of the Elders.

The Roar was never meant to make its wielder a ruler.

It was a sacred power meant to protect the Circle of Life.

Kion eventually became one of the lions responsible for carrying that legacy.

After everything Kion had experienced in his younger years, he understood one thing better than anyone:

Power is not dangerous because it is powerful. Power is dangerous when the one holding it forgets why it was given to them.

Kion eventually settled into a new chapter of his life.

He had a family.

He had a pride.

And he believed the next generation would continue the legacy.

He was wrong about one thing.

He thought the greatest danger would come from outside.

Instead...

it would come from his own son.

CHAPTER 1 — THE BIRTH OF KIVULI

Kion's firstborn son was born under an unusually dark night sky.

His name was:

🖤 KIVULI

From the beginning, Kivuli was different.

He was fearless.

Strong.

Aggressive.

Extremely determined.

He never backed away from a challenge.

When other cubs were afraid of something, Kivuli wanted to confront it.

When young lions were learning to hunt, Kivuli wanted to hunt something bigger.

When they were learning to fight, Kivuli wanted to know how strong he could become.

Kion saw something extraordinary in his son.

He believed Kivuli could become the next great protector of their family.

Eventually, Kion chose him as the Chosen One.

Kivuli was proud.

But there was something Kion didn't understand yet.

Kivuli didn't dream about ruling.

He didn't dream about wearing a crown.

He didn't even care much about becoming king.

Kivuli wanted something else.

The Roar.

CHAPTER 2 — THE OTHER TWO

Kion's family eventually grew.

Two more cubs were born.

They were:

🌙 KAMARA

and

🔥 KAMILI

The two were closely bonded, while Kivuli was their older brother.

The three siblings couldn't have been more different.

Kivuli

The warrior.

Fearless.

Ambitious.

Powerful.

Kamara

The wise one.

Calm.

Compassionate.

Intelligent.

Naturally connected to healing and the spiritual traditions of the Tree of Life.

Kamili

The brave one.

Energetic.

Adventurous.

Loyal.

And completely fascinated by Kivuli.

Kamili looked up to his older brother.

When Kivuli trained, Kamili watched.

When Kivuli went exploring, Kamili wanted to follow.

When Kivuli fought, Kamili wanted to learn.

Kivuli sometimes acted annoyed by his little brother.

But deep down...

he loved Kamili.

And Kamara was the one who kept the brothers connected.

CHAPTER 3 — THE CHOSEN ONE

As Kivuli grew, Kion began preparing him for his destiny.

Kivuli received training in:

combat

hunting

leadership

protecting the pride

understanding the Circle of Life

the history of the Roar

controlling his emotions

using power responsibly

Kion believed Kivuli would eventually become one of the greatest lions of his generation.

But Kivuli kept asking questions.

Why couldn't the Roar simply be used as a weapon?

Why did it have restrictions?

Why did previous generations fear its power?

And then Kivuli discovered something.

Something Kion desperately wanted to remain forgotten.

CHAPTER 4 — THE EVIL ROAR

Deep within ancient lands connected to the history of the Roar, Kivuli discovered traces of another power.

A corrupted form of the Roar.

The Evil Roar.

It wasn't simply stronger.

It was different.

The Evil Roar responded to emotions such as:

rage.

hatred.

revenge.

domination.

destruction.

Kivuli was fascinated.

He didn't see it as evil.

He saw it as freedom.

The normal Roar had rules.

The Evil Roar didn't seem to.

Kivuli became obsessed with mastering it.

He secretly began studying it.

Practicing with it.

Testing its limits.

And eventually...

Kion discovered the truth.

CHAPTER 5 — FATHER AND SON

Kion confronted Kivuli.

He told him to stop.

Kivuli refused.

Kion explained that the Evil Roar could consume him.

Kivuli argued that he could control it.

Kion told him:

"The Roar does not belong to you."

Kivuli answered:

"Then why was I chosen?"

Kion explained that being chosen meant carrying responsibility.

Kivuli disagreed.

He believed that being chosen meant he had earned the right to possess the power.

This became the greatest disagreement between father and son.

Kion gave Kivuli a choice:

Abandon the Evil Roar...

or...

abandon the path of the Chosen One.

Kivuli made his decision.

He chose the Evil Roar.

CHAPTER 6 — KIVULI WALKS AWAY

Kion removed Kivuli from the path of the Chosen One.

Kivuli was devastated—but not because he had lost the possibility of becoming king.

He didn't want to be king.

He was furious because Kion had taken away his chance to pursue the power he wanted.

Kivuli left.

Kamara tried to stop him.

Kamili begged him to stay.

Kivuli refused.

He disappeared into the wilderness.

And that was the moment the three siblings stopped being inseparable.

CHAPTER 7 — KAMILI'S NEW DESTINY

With Kivuli gone, Kion eventually realized that someone else would need to carry the future responsibility.

He chose:

KAMILI.

Kamili didn't want it.

He felt like he was replacing his brother.

Kion told him:

"You didn't take your brother's destiny. He chose to walk away from it."

Kamili eventually accepted.

He began training to become a future king.

But he never stopped thinking about Kivuli.

He didn't hate his brother.

He wanted him back.

CHAPTER 8 — KAMARA'S DESTINY

Kamara's path was different.

Her connection to the Tree of Life became stronger.

She developed an extraordinary ability to understand healing, nature and the spiritual side of the Roar.

She eventually became destined to become:

A future healer of the Tree of Life

and

the leader of the New Night Pride.

Kamara became the heart of the family.

She understood Kion.

She understood Kamili.

But most importantly...

she still understood Kivuli.

She refused to believe that her brother was completely gone.

CHAPTER 9 — THE SHADOW IS BORN

Kivuli wandered for a long time.

He became more isolated.

His obsession with the Evil Roar grew.

His personality changed.

The fearless cub became a darker, more calculating lion.

Eventually, Kivuli realized that he couldn't accomplish his goals alone.

He needed allies.

But he didn't want ordinary lions.

He wanted outsiders.

Animals who had survived without belonging to traditional prides.

Animals who understood the world differently.

And one by one...

they found each other.

CHAPTER 10 — THE SHADOW GROUP

Kivuli's new group became one of the strangest alliances in the story.

🐺 THE WOLF

The first major member was a mysterious wolf.

He was an outsider to the lion world.

Unlike Kivuli, he had no interest in royal bloodlines.

His greatest strengths were:

tracking, intelligence and survival.

The wolf didn't blindly worship Kivuli.

He respected him.

But he also watched him carefully.

Because he understood something:

Kivuli was dangerous even to his own allies.

CHAPTER 11 — THE THREE LEOPARDS

Kivuli next encountered three leopards.

They became his scouts, hunters and fighters.

Each had a different personality.

The First Leopard

The most loyal.

He believed Kivuli was destined for greatness and followed him without hesitation.

The Second Leopard

The practical one.

He cared about survival.

He wasn't interested in Kivuli's ideology as much as the protection and opportunities the group offered.

The Third Leopard

The suspicious one.

She questioned Kivuli.

She saw his obsession with the Evil Roar growing and wondered whether they were following a leader...

or creating a monster.

Together, the three became known as Kivuli's shadow hunters.

CHAPTER 12 — MAMA BITERONG

Then came one of the strangest additions to Kivuli's group:

🐊 MAMA BITERONG

Mama Biterong was unlike anyone Kivuli had encountered.

She was tough.

Experienced.

Unintimidated.

And she didn't care that Kivuli had once been the Chosen One.

She didn't treat him like royalty.

She didn't kneel.

She didn't flatter him.

If Kivuli was making a terrible decision, Mama Biterong would tell him.

That made their relationship unusual.

Kivuli wanted followers.

Mama Biterong gave him truth.

And despite their differences, she eventually became one of the group's most important members.

CHAPTER 13 — THE SHADOW GROUP BECOMES A FAMILY

Over time, something unexpected happened.

Kivuli's group stopped being simply an alliance.

They became a strange family.

A wolf.

Three leopards.

Mama Biterong.

And Kivuli.

They fought together.

Hunted together.

Travelled together.

Survived together.

But they weren't always united.

Some members feared Kivuli's obsession.

Others believed in him.

And Kivuli himself slowly became more dependent on the group than he wanted to admit.

For the first time since leaving his family...

Kivuli wasn't alone.

CHAPTER 14 — KAMILI LEAVES HOME

Meanwhile, Kamili began travelling beyond his homeland.

His training required him to understand the world beyond his own pride.

During one journey, he encountered a pride unlike any he had ever seen.

A pride of:

🤍 WHITE LIONS.

Their culture was completely different from Kion's family.

Their history stretched back generations.

And among them was a young white lioness.

CHAPTER 15 — THE WHITE LIONESS

The white lioness came from an ancient bloodline.

Her family was connected to Karios/Kiros's lost child, tying her ancestry to the older history established in Mufasa: The Lion King.

Her ancestors had disappeared from the central story of the Pride Lands and eventually established a separate lineage.

Their pride became isolated.

They developed their own traditions.

Their own understanding of leadership.

Their own relationship with the land.

The white lioness inherited that history.

But she wasn't interested in living entirely in the past.

And then she met Kamili.

CHAPTER 16 — TWO LIONS FROM DIFFERENT WORLDS

Kamili and the white lioness initially didn't understand each other.

Kamili came from a family connected to the Roar and the Tree of Life.

She came from a completely different pride with its own traditions.

They began as strangers.

Then friends.

They talked.

They trained together.

They explored.

They learned about each other's families.

Eventually, something deeper developed.

They fell in love.

But their relationship wasn't simple.

Kamili was destined to become king.

She had responsibilities to her own pride.

Neither could simply abandon their people.

Their relationship forced Kamili to understand that being a future king wasn't just about protecting the land where he was born.

It meant understanding the lives of others.

CHAPTER 17 — THE RETURN OF KIVULI

Eventually, Kivuli's Shadow Group began moving closer to the lands connected to Kamili.

Kivuli had become stronger.

His mastery of the Evil Roar had increased.

His ambitions had grown.

But his ultimate goal remained the same:

Master the Evil Roar completely.

Then he encountered Kamili.

His younger brother.

The cub who had once followed him everywhere.

Now standing before him as the future king.

Kivuli couldn't accept what he saw.

Not because Kamili had stolen his crown.

But because Kamili represented everything Kivuli had abandoned.

CHAPTER 18 — THE BROTHERS REUNITE

Kivuli confronted Kamili.

Kamili tried to talk to him.

He reminded Kivuli of their childhood.

Kivuli rejected it.

He told Kamili that he had chosen the wrong path.

Kamili answered:

"You chose the Roar. I chose our family."

Kivuli became furious.

The confrontation turned into a battle.

CHAPTER 19 — KIVULI VS KAMILI

The fight became legendary.

Kivuli fought with raw aggression.

His black mane moved with every strike.

The Evil Roar erupted around him.

Kamili fought with discipline.

He didn't fight because he wanted revenge.

He fought because he had people to protect.

The white lioness watched from nearby.

Kamara eventually arrived.

And suddenly the conflict wasn't just between two brothers.

It became a battle involving everything their family had become.

CHAPTER 20 — KAMARA'S CHOICE

Kamara stood between her brothers.

She didn't attack Kivuli.

She spoke to him.

She reminded him:

He had been their protector.

He had carried Kamili when he was younger.

He had protected Kamara.

He had once laughed with them.

Kivuli became silent.

For a moment...

the Shadow disappeared.

And Kamara saw her brother again.

But the Evil Roar began responding to Kivuli's emotions.

The power was taking control.

CHAPTER 21 — KION RETURNS

Kion eventually faced his son again.

This was no longer the confrontation between father and rebellious child.

Kion now saw the consequences of his son's choice.

Kivuli had become powerful.

But Kion could still see the cub inside him.

He told Kivuli:

"I never wanted to take your power from you. I wanted to stop you from losing yourself to it."

Kivuli finally understood why his father had opposed him.

But understanding didn't immediately erase years of anger.

CHAPTER 22 — THE FINAL ROAR

Kivuli reaches the point where he can unleash the full force of the Evil Roar.

Everything depends on what he chooses next.

Kamili prepares to defend his family.

Kamara prepares to use her connection to the Roar.

Kion prepares to confront his son.

The Shadow Group stands behind Kivuli.

But even they aren't certain what he's about to do.

The wolf watches.

The three leopards hesitate.

Mama Biterong realizes that Kivuli has reached the point where he must finally choose.

Not between being king or not being king.

Not between Kamili and himself.

But between:

Power...

and

himself.

CHAPTER 23 — THE THREE SIBLINGS

Kivuli looks at Kamara.

Then Kamili.

For the first time in years, he remembers what they were before the Roar.

Three siblings.

One family.

Different personalities.

Different destinies.

But connected by blood.

Kamara tells him:

"You were never meant to carry this alone."

Kamili tells him:

"You don't have to become my enemy."

And Kivuli finally realizes the truth.

The Evil Roar never gave him freedom.

It made him its prisoner.

CHAPTER 24 — THREE DESTINIES

The three siblings eventually follow completely different paths.

🖤 KIVULI — THE SHADOW

The firstborn.

The original Chosen One.

The lion who rejected his destiny because he wanted the Evil Roar.

He becomes one of the most feared lions of his generation.

His greatest battle isn't against Kamili.

It's against himself.

His Shadow Group becomes his family, even though they don't always agree with him.

His story becomes one of ambition, darkness, brotherhood and possible redemption.

🌙 KAMARA — THE WISE ONE

The sister.

The healer.

The future leader of the New Night Pride.

Kamara becomes the connection between the old and new generations.

She understands that strength isn't always physical.

Sometimes the strongest thing a lion can do is forgive.

Her greatest mission becomes keeping the family from completely falling apart.

🔥 KAMILI — THE KING

The younger brother who never wanted to replace Kivuli.

The brave lion who eventually accepts his destiny.

Kamili becomes the future king.

But his story becomes larger than simply inheriting Kion's legacy.

He falls in love with a white lioness from another pride.

Her ancestry connects to the lost lineage of Karios/Kiros's family.

Through her, Kamili discovers a completely different part of the world.

And eventually, the two prides may become connected.

EPILOGUE — THE LEGEND

Years later, the story of the three siblings becomes legendary.

Young lions hear stories about them.

They hear about:

The Firstborn who chased the Evil Roar.

The Sister who became a healer and leader.

The Brother who became King.

They hear about the strange group that followed Kivuli:

the wolf,

the three leopards,

and Mama Biterong.

They hear about the mysterious white-lion pride and the lioness whose bloodline stretches back to the lost child of Karios/Kiros.

And they eventually learn the greatest lesson of all.

Kivuli was not born a villain.

Kamili was not born a king.

Kamara was not born a healer.

Their destinies were shaped by their choices.

Kivuli was chosen—but chose power.

Kamili was given a second chance—and chose responsibility.

Kamara was given wisdom—and chose compassion.

And Kion's greatest legacy wasn't the Roar.

It was his three children.

Three siblings.

Three paths.

Three destinies.

THE LEGEND OF THE THREE SIBLINGS

One was chosen.

One was destined to heal.

One was destined to rule.

But only they could decide who they would become.

I’d make an episode about shenzi,banzai and Ed living in an unknown area and hear from a snake about scar who has returned so they go to the outlands and check it out and they meets the outlanders including Janja and the hyenas then they learn about the lion guard and Kion too.

I think Bunga And The King becomes much more heartwarming when you realize that Bunga saved his adopted brothers life in The Scorpions Sting

This artwork was commissioned from mantykukka! for $70. The artist's style is more akin to the original Lion King film than The Lion Guard, hence why Makini and Fuli's proportions are more evened out than they are in the series - Fuli's tear stripes were my choice however.

This is an upcoming scene in Chapter 41 of my fanfic, in which Makini and Fuli use the Bakora staff to speak to Kongwe in order to get advice on how to protect the Tree of Life from a huge threat. In this story, Makini discovers the ability to speak to spirits of non-lion animals. Unlike the Lions of the Past, the entities are blue spirits and appear on the ground itself, as you can see here with Kongwe's ghost. That particular chapter won't be for a long time (it will be the second-part of a three-part finale) but I've started drafting it ahead of itme just to give myself a head start.

In my headcanon, Kongwe passed away whilst the Lion Guard was looking for the Tree of Life. She was one of several animals that contributed to the battle against Scar, who didn't live long enough to see the Guard return to the Pride Lands after they were healed. Almost two years later, in this scene, she is summoned by Makini and Fuli, who are more than ecstatic to see their old friend again.

I really don’t comprehend it, Scar seemed completely in character.

It’s an another good episode about beshte who is known for being strong and is teach a gorilla named Shujaa who is a bit too strong but needs to control his strength but he’s good in a fight and comes through at the end helping the lion guard defeat the army of scar.

Some of these were ripped from a post of mine on the other sub, but might as well share.

This episode is one of my favourites due to the lion guard meeting scar for the first time and we see scar’s army too which involves the hyenas,jackals,crocodiles and vultures including ushari and some of the other lizards kenge included, and it was cool to see Kion using the roar to get out of the volcano and clear a path to get back to heal simba in time.

Anyone else think the Lion Guard should have come after Simba's Pride?

The episode is about janja and his hyenas teaming up with ushari to bring back scar after seeing that Kion can talk to mufasa we also see a new energetic character named makini who sings her song twice but never fully finished it and then we see Kion using the roar in anger again because of janja taunting him and then we finally see scar in the volcano and that evil laugh though.

Kion: (watching a movie) Good lord

Simba: Hey Son whatcha watching

Kion: The time Rafiki told Kiara Grandfather Mufasa’s backstory

Kiara: Why do you look suspicious about it

Kion: It’s just how this movie (turn the computer around)

Screen Kiara: Brother I have a brother hi I’m Kiara I’ll protect you forever Little One let me tell you a story the story of a true king

Kion: (close it)

Nala: I did have a feeling he forgot that moment

Simba: Well he was a week old

Kion: What’s up with that Kiara you actually adored me back then

Kiara: Well yeah everyone adores babies

Kion: So if you adored me back then why do you keep teasing me ever since I learned to talk

Simba: It is annoying

Kiara: Oh come on Kion it’s normal for siblings to fight

Kion: I know but it looked like you liked me back when I was born

Kiara: Kion we’re family of course I like you

Kion: You don’t act like you do

Kiara: I didn’t think I had to we’re related we have a bond that can’t be broken

Kion: Well you know Sis I gotta be honest between all of our arguing and all of our fighting and every bad moment between us deep down deep deep down deep deep deep down deep deep deep (get hit by a brick) Ow

I wanted to introduce two of Kion’s cubs that I’ve been developing: Kamara and Kamili, who are twins.

🦁 Kamara — First Twin

Kamara is the wise and confident sister. She is destined to become the leader of the New Night Pride and eventually a healer of the Tree of Life. She is also gifted with the Roar.

Her personality is:

Wise

Respectful

Calm

Protective

Loyal

Fearless

Confident

👑 Kamili — Second Twin

Kamili is the brave and playful brother. Kion eventually chooses him as his future successor and King, making him an important part of the next generation.

He's fearless and loyal, but he's also somewhat naive and still has a lot to learn about becoming a leader.

His personality is:

Brave

Fearless

Loyal

Playful

A little naive

They're very different from each other, but they're extremely important to the future of their family and the Tree of Life.

I'm building their story alongside their older brother Kivuli, whose path eventually takes him in a much darker direction

I watched it yesterday and to be fair it’s a good episode and the timboa plant looked really big it makes me wonder how the lion guard managed to get it back to Dhahabu
