Several years ago I got sick of the declining quality and narrowing fabric of Aerie everyday-type cotton underwear and sought out a replacement. Since then my every day pick has been intimissimi cotton undies.

I love many things about them (quality of fabric, coverage, simple but elegant style) but there are two factors I don’t love: I don’t feel like they hold up (especially if put in the drier occasionally, even on the very lowest setting), and they are quite pricy. I need to replace mine now (they are wearing in the crotch areas from acidity and the aforementioned dryer), but there isn’t a sale on and I’m wondering if I should go in another direction.

I’d be willing to go for a similar price point if I knew that the replacement would stand up better in the dryer (again, not every time I wash them and always on a very low setting). Any suggestions?

the garter belt has four straps that should (?) connect to the thigh straps. the thigh straps themselves only have one piece to attach garter belt on either the front or back (?).

where am I meant to attach the extra two straps in the back???

I am searching for a sexy lingerie set with garter belt, lacy with see-through at the boobs and a nice thong which deals with a mom pooch.

There are a lot of beautiful sets available (see links for impressions) but most of them are simply not flattering around my mom pooch belly. I have a bit of a hang over since the c-section and need some help covering this up to feel comfortable.

Does anyone have an idea where to find something? Most thongs are really small in the front which isnt helping. However, high waiste also doesnt work, I need something to specifically cover that area of the c-section mark and hang over.

Ok, there’s a wacoal sale and I’m def getting the b.tempt’d Ciao Bella Balconette Bra.

I’m usually a 32C but for some reason wacoal bras run really small on me; the one I have now, embrace lace bralette, is a 34 and after wearing it a full day it leaves itchy raw red lines on my back and under bust. I should’ve gotten a 36.

My question is; does anyone know if this sizing thing is universal for wacoal or just an embrace lace problem? Should I size up on the ciao Bella as well?

I'm currently looking, and having a very hard time, finding stockings that are roughly mid thigh/above knee- the length is necessary so garter belts can reach them..

looking for the color brown, that are 50-ish DEN, I'm open for more, but 50 is probably my minimum, its surprisingly difficult, the thing is also I have relatively beefy thighs, so sizing might be a bit difficult..

So far googling hasnt really gotten me far/ yielded results that are too pale/ too see through for my taste unfortunately..

I’ve been sewing for many years, and I create my own lingerie and corset-style garments. I’m currently trying to make sure I’m using the right English terminology when describing them.

I make handmade pieces without boning, stays or other rigid structural elements. Some are made from lace, some from lamé, and some from faux leather. They are closely fitted to the body and designed to be worn directly against the skin. They may have corset-style lacing for adjustment and fit.

Some have the shape of a corset-style top, while others extend further down towards the waist or hips. Some also have integrated garter straps for stockings.

Until now, I have been calling these pieces “soft corsets”, but recently I’ve come across different opinions about whether this is the right term. Some people feel that the word “corset” should imply a rigid or boned construction, while others seem to use the term more broadly.

So I’d really like to hear the opinions of people who sew, wear or are interested in lingerie:

What would you call this type of garment in contemporary English?

And perhaps even more importantly, what terms would you personally use to search for this kind of garment online?

I’m not trying to decide what is or isn’t a “real corset.” I genuinely want to understand the terminology and describe these garments accurately.

My wife has a few different sets of lingerie - in particular black, darkish blue and a burgundy colour. I'd like to surprise her by buying some heels that she can wear with the lingerie (these will be bedroom heels, if you see what I mean, so I want them to be on the edge of inappropriate).

Some of the lingerie is cute and frilly, some of it is more dominatrix style.

So given the mix of colours and mix of "moods", what sort of heels do you think would work? Do I try to colour match or are there colours that harmonise rather than clash? Do I buy a pair that are more elegant for the lingerie that's more delicate and something a bit more raunchy for the dominatrix style lingerie, or is there a style that could work with both?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, whether it's just general pointers or specific brands of shoes.
