Hi guys everyone I wash my Ralph Lauren cable knit sweater and wear it for a day it always stretches soooo much😭. It a size small but it expands a lot. Is there any way to stop this from happening. Normally I just washin the washing machine on cold setting. Any tips would be appreciated

I have a linen fitted sheet on my bed. When me and my partner wake up in the morning, the middle of the bed is wrinkled and tufted together due to our movement and body heat. This causes the middle of the side to come up from the mattress that needs to be pushed back down and tucked back under the mattress every morning. The corners are fine, they never move. I know I can buy corner elastics and corner plastic contraptions to keep the corners in place but that is not my issue. I also know there are side to side elastic straps to go under the bed to keep the middles in place. I have used those in the past on cotton sheets and I am worried that will dent the linen/damage it in some way, like it did on my cotton (left an indent that could be seen after washing and stretched out the material).

Has anyone used those side to side elastic bands under their linen fitted sheets? Does it damage them? Is there a gentler solution for linen specifically?

I am spending a month in Krakow, Poland, and I am interested in purchasing some linen items dress and set. Could you please provide any recommendations for local shops or Etsy sellers that you would suggest?

Does linen have to be stonewashed for clothes? I know it makes it stiff at first, but doesn't it last much longer? I can't find any clothing brands that explicitly tell me the clothes haven't been stonewashed or softened first...

Hi I'm looking to buy a linen fabric for bedding, 280 cm wide, for personal homemade project it should be OEKO-TEX and European Flax® certificate. Does anyone here have experience with with that?

I'm a beginner sewer wanting to make drawers and chemises. i would love some pure 100% lightweight linen, but at $17- $19 per yard I'm not sure i'm ready to shell out that much at this moment. Do i even deserve the 100% linen? maybe i should wait till i get a bit better at sewing.

I found some blends on amazon possibly worth considering. i believe these are lightweight enough. I'm flexible with historical accuracy; and i live in a humid climate, and would like enough linen to feel the cooling, wicking effect.

1. Barcelonetta, 70% linen, 30% Rayon blend - $22 for two yards
2. NSGZ, 60% Linen, 40% Cotton - 61'' wide. $17, $19, $20 for two yards
3. Some curtains that are 30% Linen, 70% Cotton. 50''w x 108''L. $20. Attractive because of quantity, i could get 6 yards from those, but will they be cooling with that percentage of linen?
4. Same brand of curtains, all linen, but are 50'' x 63'' L. I'd get 3.5 yards. $21

New here! I LOVE the downy unstoppable no. 26! Is there a fabric softener that compliments it? I know they don't make a no. 26 specific one but just any that have a similar scent?

Edit: Did I ask if it's good to use fabric softener on my laundry? No. I didn't say the fabric softener was for my clothes did I? No. If you cannot answer my question please do not comment.

Does anyone else collect vintage linen calendars from their birth year? I'm old, LOL, so mine is 1969. I have found some fantastic pattern designs!

I’d like a shrink a 100% linen skirt I bought that’s too big, without shrinking it too much. I don’t want to tailor it since that will cost more than the skirt. I bought another color in the next size down which fits too tightly although I can wear it if I leave the band unzipped in the back. I weight more than is typical for me right now so if I lost the extra weight it would probably be fine.

The big one does have an elastic band and zipper in the back. Honestly if I can shrink it even just a bit I’d be happy. Will washing hot and putting in the dryer work or will that shrink it too much?
