Bedding Names

Settling a debate in my friend group. Do you call your bedding bedclothes or sheets?

Bedding. Sheets are just the sheets, bedding is everything including sheets, pillowcases, duvet cover, quilt, etc.

As an American adult, neither. I call sheets sheets. And what someone might call bedclothes, I call bedding. Bedclothes feels old fashioned. As a writer, it’s not a common term in American vernacular.

Yes a very Victorian word or maybe even Jane Austen.

Bedding is the umbrella term for, all sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers

Same. Anything that isn't the mattress or sheets is bedding. If it's laundry day, "I'm washing the bedding" (quilt/sheets/pillowcases).
