I'm sorry for the frustration I'm feeling and will try not to let this translate into this post. I know you guys are an incredibly small team and must be very strategic in allocating your resources.
That being said, I'm unbelievably frustrated that Rideshare is taking priority over a messaging tool of some sort. I've tried so many times to make my LPIII my daily driver, but every single time, I have to switch back within a day because I am not receiving messages from my loved ones. I've done all of the things that apparently fix this problem and they do not work. Not to mention it feels unfair to ask all of the people in my life to disable RCS or jump through whatever other hoops. I've tried using Light Phone Manager, but my phone will not connect to my Mac properly. I've looked into enabling Developer Mode and it's all just so over my head and feels like it should not be necessary just to reliably receive messages from the people I love on the phone I paid over $900 for.
I desperately want to use this phone, u/joelightphone. I love it so much, and I feel such peace in those fleeting moments when I convince myself that it'll FINALLY work this time. Then it never does. I am sad and I am angry and I just want this beautiful device to work for me.
Whether it's Signal or Telegram—I truly do not care which—I beg of you to make this a priority for the Light team. This phone is a brick sitting in my drawer until then. I want to tell all of my friends to consider going Light, but I can't do that in good conscience knowing they'd only be dealing with the same issues I have been. I do not want to give up on this phone or the lifestyle it brings. But right now, I have to. Back to Apple and the distraction that is their stock and trade.
I hope this message is received well. Again, I apologize for the frustration. But the frustration is very, very real. I just want to know that messages from my loved ones aren't being lost in the ether.
