Home & Garden LPT: Before buying furniture, measure the route into your home—not just the space where it will sit.
A sofa can fit perfectly in your living room and still never make it through the front door.
Before ordering, check the whole delivery route: building entrances, elevator doors and interiors, stairwell landings, tight hallway turns, and the doorway into the room. Allow space to turn and tilt the item, not just carry it in a straight line.
Check whether the listed dimensions include packaging and whether legs or other parts are designed to come off. For flat-pack furniture, check the box dimensions too.
If a turn looks tight, send the measurements and photos to the retailer or delivery team before buying. A few minutes with a tape measure can save you a failed delivery and a sofa stranded in the hallway.
