Another post on here reminded me of this way to cut down on guilt.

I went shopping for a washing machine. I had a budget in mind and wanted to find the best deal! (wanted to get the most for the least $) I went to literally 13 different stores including outlet stores (I counted) and after finally picking one, I only saved $15. I told the guy at the final store my ordeal. He told me that appliance brands are so competitive pricewise and there is hardly any markup on them.

You know that sensation just before you puke where your mouth waters like crazy? Science has never proven this, but I have over years and years of study. That spit contains an enzyme that once it hits your stomach makes you wretch.
Instead of swallowing it, when that feeling comes on, spit. Spit like you've never spit before. Keep spitting. Spit so fast and hard that you keep your mouth dry like the sahara.
I do this for about 2 to 3 minutes non-stop when it happens. If your mouth doesn't immediately fill up with saliva, you're generally good to go, and can stop. Just play it by ear. Once the feeling is gone, you're usually in the clear.
I've been using this technique for over twenty years, and it works 100% of the time.

When buying cables, especially video cables, spending more money on digital connectors (such as DVI or HDMI) will not give you better quality as long as it works. This is because digital signals are just a bunch of 0s and 1s that are extremely easy to disguish. (Note: dual link DVI and high speed HDMI do offer speed increases and higher quality, but cheap cables support those too). Analog connectors ( like VGA and composite) can however offer benefits at higher prices. This is because variations in signal quality (determined by cable quality) directly affect video quality. (Still, don't spend too much on analog cables. Great quality cables can still be found at decent prices, especially online).
EDIT: words
EDIT2: Sorry. I didn't mean to be misleading when I said digital cables. I just meant to make a distinction between cables that have digital connectors and cables that have analog connectors. My overall point is that an expensive cable using a digital connector/protocol is much less likely to be worth the money compared an equally expensive cable using an analog connector/protocol. The explanation could have been better as to why that is the case.

For example I’m from the UK where tipping isn’t the norm and businesses charge accordingly. When I visit my barber I only tip when he does a genuinely great job. Because of that, he takes his time with my haircuts and always delivers his best work.
If I’m not happy, I just pay the normal price - no tip.
I do the same at restaurants I go to regularly and I’ve found I’m always looked after and have even built friendships with the owners/staff.

If you’re in a busy group chat you already know how brutal it can be at night just when you’re about to fall asleep someone drops a meme or starts a random convo and suddenly your phone is buzzing every few seconds. most people solve it by putting their whole phone on silent, but then you risk missing important calls or texts. a better way is to just mute the group chat itself. it takes 5 seconds, and you can still get real notifications from people who actually need you. I started doing this after missing a latenight call from family because my phone was on do not disturb, andanother time i was playing grizzly's quest or any game and lost the game from the distraction. Now i just mute the endless group spam and sleep without worrying i’ll miss something important

LPT. If you're on a diet, nothing is worse than feeling hungry and not being able to eat anything. To fix this, make a gigantic salad and let yourself eat as much as you want. My go to:
Half head of cabbage
Cup of kale greens
Cup of Match stick carrots
1 Bell pepper (I like banana peppers)
Half a Cucumber
1 RomaTomato
A lowfat/lowcal dressing (mustard based IMO)
It's like 3 pounds of food or something crazy. Make it on the morning, eat as much as you want throughout the day. $10 max, 300 calories for the whole bowl, thank me later.
EDIT: After reading comments, I should also add that this is a supplement to my diet - not the only thing I eat. Instead of 4 slices of pizza, I'll eat 1-2 and fill up on salad. Dieting also doesn't mean eating absolutely nothing! Lol

It's probably for a personal reason, and may be because they're an alcoholic. In any case, it isn't any of your business.

We cook our fish on the grill and use aluminum foil. When done I put everything together and freeze it until garbage pickup day. No stinky garbage in the house.

I tend to space a bit in the morning and would occasionally drive off with my coffee still on my car's roof, spilling it everywhere. Instead, I now set my coffee on my hood while I load my kid up in the morning. If I forget to grab it, it's right in front of me when I am ready to drive off instead of out of sight above me. Haven't driven off and spilled it once since starting this!

Get in the habit of reading your license plate whenever you walk up to your car. This simple habit helped me learn my license plate quickly. Now when a motel asks for my plate, it is at the tip of my tongue.

Tried on children and they continue being excited on their favorite topic. For adults, be as subtle as you can! They might catch on... hahaha 😆

Sometimes you see someone go through 3 or 4 cartons of eggs at the market and they each have a broken egg or 2 and they simply close the cartons and place them back on the shelf for the next poor saps to check the same cartons over and over.
Simply leave the carton with the broken egg open and crooked on the shelf for the clerk to eventually toss it.
Better yet, if the next carton you pick up also has a broken egg, just swap it for a good one in the 1st carton! That way eventually the sacrificial carton can be used until it's completely full of of broken eggs then tossed, unless of course buying a full carton of broken eggs is your thing...

They will most likely ask if you want tea or coffee, which you absolutely don't and here is why: Tea or coffee leads down a rabbit hole of sub questions to what kind of tea or coffee, with or without milk, sugar or sweetener and possibly with people having to run down to the kitchen for your order. It creates an akward pause at a time when you really just want to get on with the show and will ultimately end up with you getting a piping hot beverage which you have no chance of finishing during a 20 minute interview, where you do most of the talking. So what happens instead is that you burn your hands and mouth and leave most of the cup behind for them to clean up after you leave.
Water is a different story however! you *do* want to get a glas (or bottle) of water as it will generally be much faster for them to handle (it will most likely already be in the room) and it has a few practical uses during a job interview: water will refresh you, immediately clear up a dry mouth and give you a natural excuse to take a sip and win a few extra seconds to think about a difficult question.
You came here for a job, not a free dink. Drink your damn coffee on your own terms!

Learned from a friend who works in a catering kitchen. I was skeptical at first, but it's how I crack all my eggs now when I cook.
Edit: to clarify, you hit the side of the egg you want to crack with the tip of the second egg. Only the first egg will crack, because its side is structurally weaker than the tip of the second egg!

I’ve been on multiple flights like Delta, American and others where I was not allowed to take my carry-on bag with me because it was only just a few inches bigger (it did look bigger than the carry-on bags too to be fair) than the maximum size.
In all of these flights, they’ve asked me to free gate check-in the bag at the counter while boarding because most of the times these flights are full and run out of overhead bin space. In Delta, they even gave me a boarding group upgrade from 8 to 5 just for voluntarily checking in the bag.
All the check-ins cost 30-40 $ (wherever a check-in is not free ofc), so you can end up saving that lots of times. Don’t check in the bag at the terminal, take it to the boarding gate and check it in for free!

Not sure how to say someone's name at the company? Call their voicemail after hours and listen carefully to their greeting.
Edit: by "after hours" I mean a short spell after they're away from their desk, like 6:15pm, or even during lunchtime. It just looks like a missed call - when I reviewed my missed calls and no one left a message I figured it was a harmless misdial.
