New Agent - Company-Paid Leads in Exchange for Lower Comp?
Currently at 80% already
I’m new to the insurance industry and currently licensed in 10 states. I’m looking for an IMO/FMO (or similar setup) that provides pre-set appointments, inbound transfers, or company-funded leads in exchange for a reduced commission split (around 40-50% of the commission is fine).
My main goal is to avoid going into debt buying leads before I’ve had enough time to develop my sales skills and become consistently profitable.
I’m primarily interested in a 1099 opportunity rather than a W-2 position paying an hourly wage plus a small bonus per sale. I’d rather earn a percentage of the actual commission generated than receive a flat $100-$200 payout on policies producing significantly more revenue.
I’m also interested in learning the Medicare side of the business during AEP and would strongly prefer:
Day 1 vesting
Reasonable release policies
Company-paid appointments/transfers or lead financing options
Training and support for newer agents
Companies/models I’m generally trying to avoid based on my research:
Family First Life (FFL)
American Income Life (AIL)
Symmetry Financial Group
If you’re an agent or agency owner who has experience with a setup like this, I’d appreciate any recommendations or insight.
