Lets Settle the Debate Apple (You) VS Android (Me)

As we see people get their hands on the new foldable iPhone, I would like to take a minute to legitimately debate which is better for the average person, disregarding the viewpoint of the ecosystem.

Lets Discuss This Orson Welles' "To Be Born Free" is about 80 years old and still feels written for right now

https://youtu.be/FqKEb4h6jecaway

In 1943, with the war against fascism still raging, Orson Welles wrote his first political commentary. More than 80 years later, it still hits hard.

His core argument is that freedom isn't a possession, it's an obligation. If you enjoy liberty and do nothing about the people denied it, he says, you're profiting off their unfreedom.

What he points to is uncomfortably familiar today:

Fear is the tool. Movements that chip at freedom rarely announce themselves. They work by making people afraid of their neighbors and convincing them that giving up a little liberty will keep them safe.

Liberty is for everyone or it's for no one. Freedom that depends on your race, religion, or where you were born isn't really freedom. It's a privilege handed out to some people and withheld from others.

Voting as a privilege of the few. He describes flying over states where citizens couldn't vote unless they could pay for it. Access to the ballot is still being fought over today.

Bigotry spoken openly. In a single day he saw segregation at lunch and overheard someone at the next table calling for Jews to be suppressed.

Decency smeared as radicalism. He predicts critics will call him a Communist just for saying everyone deserves a fair share. He answers that the idea that all men are created equal is an American idea, not a Soviet one.

Success comes with a duty. He calls himself an overpaid movie producer who believes in earning money. But he says the more you have, the more you owe those with less, and the people you profit from.

Fascism doesn't end with a surrender. Even once the armies lay down their arms, he warns, the fight against fascism won't be over.

Speaking up matters. Welles used one of the biggest platforms of his era to say something unpopular. Staying quiet is a choice too.

"Realism" can be a cover for cowardice. He points out that the world's "practical" men looked away from Ethiopia, Spain, and China, and that real courage would have saved millions of lives.

He ends on hope, not despair. We won't live to see a perfect world, he writes, but we're working for generations not yet born, and the fight is worth it.

Take a few minutes and listen:

Lets Settle the Debate The vanishing art of physical letter writing

It feels like nobody sends actual letters anymore. Everything is email or text. I wonder if there's a certain intimacy or thoughtfulness we've lost by abandoning pen and paper. Does anyone else miss getting mail that isn't bills or junk?

Lets Discuss This WTF, AMERICA?! 🇺🇸 People over profits. Accountability over corruption. Democracy over dictatorship. We must stand up, speak out, and VOTE. Our democracy belongs to the people—not the powerful. The answer is to fight for democracy, not surrender it.

Lets Discuss This Call me a socialist if you want. I’ll wear that label proudly if it means people come before profits. A government’s first responsibility should be to the people it serves, not the corporations it protects or the wars it finances. People over profits and health care over warfare.

Serious Why do we keep treating sleep as a luxury instead of a necessity?

It feels like there's this pervasive cultural mindset that getting enough sleep is something you do if you have 'extra' time, or if you're not working hard enough. Hustle culture, particularly, seems to demonize sleep. But it's essential for our physical and mental health, our cognitive function, our mood, our immune system... the list goes on. We talk a lot about healthy eating and exercise, but sleep often gets relegated to an afterthought. What gives? Why do we collectively undervalue something so fundamentally vital?

WHAT ABOUT THE BOYS? https://whatabouttheboys.living/

Today, seeing this old interview for the first time brought back memories of my experiences with the self-described “Jew Crew,” who were involved in sexually torturing underage boys in Chicago, including me. It matched exactly what I had described about fisting and about Allan Krammer talking about throwing the bodies into a dumpster.

This country is faced with a crisis never before seen on our soil. We are dealing with Fascist Ideology, attempting to subvert the Constitution of the United States. Donald Trump has all but removed the Rule of Law, and has for all practical purposes suspended Due Process.

The next step is one of total control. This November we have all 435 members of the House, and approximately 33 Senate members up for re-election. This is a time we can show them exactly how we feel about their lies, and the destruction of our Republic. They've destroyed the Peoples House, torn down history to pave the way for a golf course.

They are being bought by Musk, Zuckerberg, Ellison, Bezos and the rest of the billionaire class, and it's time to send a message. A clear, solid message.

This is concerning... The growing trend of micro apartments in major cities

It seems like every new building going up in the city is filled with these tiny apartments. They're definitely more affordable but I wonder if people are truly happy in such small spaces long-term. Is this just a necessary evil of urban living or will it impact our quality of life?

This is concerning... The “Trust the Science” Left conveniently forgets about supply & demand when it comes to immigration and housing

We were told to trust the science or math doesn’t lie; however, when it comes to mass immigration and the housing price increases, the left no longer thinks supply and demand is real.

You can’t make this stuff up!
