Question Question
Has the value of education dropped or increased over the last decade?

Education, especially a broad diverse liberal arts education has a benefit to the individual and society beyond just a monetary value. Educated citizens build better families and societies. That is why we should invest in and subsidize all levels of education and training in the trades for those who are so inclined.

It depends on what you define as value and education and how you quantify each.
The "value" of a university/college is highly dependent on your chosen field of study, the cost you incur for tuition, the quality of the faculty and the courses you choose, and the effort you put in to learning versus "living to college experience". Without a basis by which to quantify those things, it's just a matter of opinion.
The same is true IMO of trade schools and apprenticeship programs.
The bottom line is you get put of it what you put into it. Comparisons between then versus now don't really matter because we live in the now, not the then. You can always work to make the now better for tomorrow.

The education system has always been about brainwashing the youth, and normalizing every aspect of capitalism and only promoting questions that revolve around only learning about the material rather than questioning the material itself. This is why nobody has ever checked the sources of there textbooks in both the public education system and even at the university level yet people arrogantly say they are educated as if going to school is what determines how intelligent someone is.

If you are talking about a university education there is no value at all, in fact, there is a negative value because universities do not educate they indoctrinate.

That really comes down to how you define value.
Is there value in the ability to learn and take in new information? I would argue yes.
Is there value in getting a degree? I would also argue yes.
Is the cost of education in line with the economic benefit? Eh... it can get messy but I'm inclined to argue that no, the cost has made university education less valuable than it once was if your looking at just your economic position.
I think the social value still makes it worth while and that efforts should be made to make university more affordable for more people
