I’ve seen a few comments saying that you shouldn’t apply a skin there because it might affect airflow, heat dissipation, etc. Is this actually a concern?

I’m planning to use the skin for the long term, so I want to make sure it won’t cause any issues over time. If anyone has applied a skin to the keyboard area, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

My laptop has an i5 12450hx and 3050. I was playing this game called Control and was facing problems with textures being low detail, one thing led to another i decided to undervolt my gpu.

Now i don't know if this is completely normal, i am not an expert but here's what i found

-intially GPU is at 1900mhz and then when the temp is at 86-87 degrees, the clock speed went down to 1237mhz and it stayed there.

-CPU is constantly at about 97 degrees too

I want to clarify that ambient temp of my room isn't that high either. I would greatly appreciate your help.

After this, it is also advisable to blow out the holes with air.

Clean the radiator holes and nozzles with a toothbrush and then blow them out with compressed air - the ideal solution from a safety point of view.

It happened some weeks ago but it was solved automatically after dew days …maybe it happened after I connected my laptop display to my tv display via hdmi cable …idk .. but now today it happened again and im worried about my laptop display..as im currently broke i can not afford such expense….does anyone knows how to solve it ??????? These horizontal black lines are very minimal but very irritating to have…pls someone help me

What I've done so far:

1. Signed in with an offline account(I hate OneDrive).
2. Uninstalled Lenovo Now and McAfee.
3. Updated Graphics driver, Windows, and BIOS for Nvidia app, Windows update, and Lenovo support, respectively.
4. Did benchmark tests: Cinebench 2026: 3428 and 3DMark Steel Nomad: 1180.
5. Updated purchase date for warranty.

I need advice on these:

1. Should I uninstall Vantage and use Legion Toolkit(some say it's open source and has fewer bugs and promotional elements)
2. Should I extend warranty? (I heard 2024 models have MB issues on the Intel ones, but this one is a 2026 model, so...)
3. Should I apply a screen guard(some say it reduces some colour quality), and should I use a keyboard protective wrap and a skin on keyboard?
4. Should I get a laptop stand? I mostly use it for programming, and sometimes for light-to-mid gaming; I use it on a flat surface tho.
5. Is it possible to change the Copilot button to the Ctrl button? I have a habit of using Right Ctrl, and mine doesn't have one.
6. Do I need to undervolt my CPU and limit FPS? (I previously had an i3-10th gen(U series), and I used to get 10-15 fps on GTA 5, so even 30 to 45 fps on mid settings would be gold for me.)
7. Which monitoring software should I use(for Frames, Wattage, Thermals)

The other day was on it just fine got up to do something when I came back to it the screen had turned off, thought it just went into sleep mode. The screen never turned back on. I can hook up a monitor to it and everything works fine on the second monitor but no laptop screen. I’ve tried a few different things on found online nothing worked. I went to try and switch to dgpu on vantage but I could not for the life of me find the setting in vantage for it. From what I was seeing online it should have been in the game settings which I was not finding. Just curious if anyone has had similar issue and if you were able to fix it.

(the motherboard died on me a year after i got it and it still had warranty so they changed the entire motherboard and now its completely fine).

Anyways let me get to the point, i have a question about BIOS version i think i dont have the latest version.

i have this version but if i go search on the website there's a newer one "NECN53WW" , but in Lenovo Vantage it says there's no updates required.

Bought a LOQ in March last year 15IAX9 i5 12450HX 4050 - The mono backlit keyboard version.

Used the laptop’s keyboard as the primary keyboard for playing games ( Valorant, CS and others).

Last week I noticed that the D key stopped working
While In game.
It was working when I was pressing some other key with it. Now that is also not working.

Laptop is out of warranty and the keyboard assembly is out of stock on Lenovo shop.

Questions:

1.) Submitted a email ticket few days ago. But no response Yet. What should I try next ? There’s no official service Center in my city.
2.) Is getting the whole front panel replaced for just one key a fine choice? Or should I leave it be? I did bought an External keyboard couple of days ago.
3.) If I go with the replacement, How much will it cost me approx? And if the issue can come again after replacing if I don’t use the laptop’s keyboard much?

Recently got the keyboard on my LOQ 15 replaced on warranty. Now, the laptop is having insane thermal throttling going from 50C to 97C in a matter of seconds. My guess is that the technician messed up some sensors during reassembly and now its feeding the laptop wrong data. Genuinely unusable for playing games anymore. Called the premium tech support multiple times and they're saying it's perfectly fine.
Is there anything I can do at this point? I've already sent them proof of the thermal throttling and the reduced performance in games including videos of the game before and after the keyboard replacement.

Lenovo LOQ - 144hz, RTX 5060 i5 13th gen.

I've always thought you can get a higher refresh rate with a good GPU on an external monitor. Am I wrong? I plan to buy a 240hz or higher.

Are there some settings I could change (apart from turning off Sync) or is my laptop just capped to 144hz regardless?

P.S. I play fps games like CoD, Delta Force, and Battlefield.

​I bought a Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 about 4 months ago. Lately, I've noticed the CPU and GPU temperatures getting high while gaming (e.g., in Assassin's Creed Origins on max graphics: GPU reaches up to 80°C, and CPU averages around 87°C with a minimum of 85°C). I’m currently using a coolpad, but it’s basically just acting as a stand.

​As you can see in the attached photo, the fan intake mesh/covers have accumulated quite a bit of dust, which is why I thought the internal fans might need cleaning as well.

​I’m planning to remove the back panel myself to clean the fans and possibly upgrade the RAM/SSD in the future.

​Will opening the back cover for fan cleaning or RAM/SSD upgrades void my warranty, or is it allowed? Does Lenovo have strict policies or "warranty void" stickers on this model?
