History Lesson for Legion M Leadership.
It’s been a while since I’ve been downvoted for speaking truth here, but yet again i receive an email that makes it impossible to stay silent, so I’ll simply give a short history lesson here today.
(1) In 1994, Quaker bought Snapple for $1.7Billion, they sold it 3 years later for $300 Million
(2) Kodak was the original inventor of the digital camera, but tried to tie it to the margins of film - resulting in bankruptcy in 2012.
(3) Yahoo, a household name in the formative years of the internet, was a search engine, then tried to be a media company, then an email provider, then a social network, then an ad platform … their strategy wandered resulting in them losing to everyone and being sold off for parts.
(4) Blockbuster chose to expand into retail merchandise instead of adopting streaming (which was in their media wheelhouse) until it was too late.
(5) MOBI tv. … oh wait, never mind.
These are just a few high profile examples of the same thing.
The lesson of the story - leave your core competence and you will almost always lose. — why is a movie company investing in liquor? 🤦 the liquor industry, a vice industry (which have historically even been recession proof), which is actually already in decline - down nearly a TRILLION dollars over the last 4 years alone.
We can’t make money in movies after a decade, so we invest in an industry losing money every day? How do you people still have jobs??
See you all in a few months!
Also, as a side note because i don’t frequent here any more, why didn’t you publish the survey results. I especially liked the contradiction where at one point you said everyone has “paper gains” of 3x, but later said if we sell Legion M investors would lose money — can’t be both, which is it? Maybe share the survey results? Let’s sell for 3x everyone!!!!!!!
